Can I use this outside in a covered porch area?

As long as the water doesn't affect it, I don't see why you could not use it on your porch area. It is an absolutely beautiful light. You have the option for various lighted choices. However, once this light burns out, you will need to replace it because there is no way to replace bulbs in it. It is a gorgeous light. I have 3 in my hallway.

Can this be installed to replace a ceiling fan?

Yes I believe so. Just make sure the hole isn’t too big and the light fits flush to the ceiling and make sure you have all the proper wiring and cap any unused wires

Does this light come in Black in stead of Chrome as shown?
