They don't fit my ears properly
The reason I bought these earbuds was to use at the gym. I own the WH-1000XM4 Headphones and I love them for working and listening to music. I thought these earbuds we going to offer a more portable option to ANC on the go. This is not the case as the earbuds don't fit in my ears properly, therefore there is no sound seal to support the noise cancelation. I get slight noise cancelation but the immersion is lost as I can still hear things around me. I have tried using the different size attachments that come with these earbuds but they don't offer any solution to the problem. The little shafts that go into my ears would need to be about 5mm longer to properly fit.

I can see why some people mention the fitment as they are on the larger side but they fit me perfectly. Noise cancelling excellent as is the sound quality. Battery lasts a long time, morning bad to say

Budget earphone buyer goes premium and...
UPDATE: After spending some time with these, I've updated my score from 4/5 to 2/5.There's a distortion that comes out heavy when listening to certain genres that won't go away. Looking online, I see other users have reported the same issue. If you go above 70% volume, the equaliser goes all over the place, leaving many songs (mainly my trance playlists on Spotify) sounding like they're playing through a fan. I've tried switching to LDAC, uninstalling the Sony Connect app, balancing the audio using preferred equalisers, reinstalling the software, playing under 70%, changing Spotify to Loud ... nothing fixes this issue. And here's the thing, I shouldn't need to jump through all these hoops to fix a problem that shouldn't existThis is extremely disappointing, both because the issue has largely been ignored in commercial reviews and also because this is Sony's 'Premium' earbud. The audio, otherwise, is fantastic (hence the great reviews) and that's what's so frustrating here. But the static noise that accompanies any beat is too much to ignore now. But when I'm switching to £7.99 headphones to listening trance to get distortion free sound, then what's the point. This is one of the worst big investments into tech I've ever made, and it pains me to say that. Please avoid the earbuds. I can't stress that enough. Something at this price should not have such an unfixable flaw.PREVIOUS: I've previously bought nothing but budget £20 wired earphones, so this is my first jump into the premium bandwagon. What are my thoughts? I'll do the basics then discuss audio. The packaging is small and 'somewhat' fits in my pocket. I've had them over a week and had to use the small buds (3 sizes in the pack). They were slightly uncomfortable at first, but I got used to them. I've jogged and sprinted, and none of this has dislodged them. Magnet keeps them in the box and lid has a nice strong snap. Going wireless can be a blessing as you don't worry about wires bending and breaking, etc. So far, very impressed. I've used them every day for a few hours and only charged them twice in a week (not even because they needed it, but because I wanted to top them up.)Now, the audio. What I wanted from a £189 earbud set is a jump in audio unlike something I've heard at the £20 range. Did I get it?... Nope. What you do get in refined audio. It's clean, clear and crisp, with a nice depth of bass. What you don't get is that extra dimension that you expect when paying such a higher price. Looking at other reviews, it appears the MX4 is among the best in earbuds, but you aren't going to get anywhere near premium wired 'head-set' quality here (I'm comparing with those expensive models once demoed at HMV). And, at first, my underwhelming response to the audio (even with Sony's app equaliser adjusted) was hard to escape. I wasn't drastically disappointed, just more... 'that's nice, but'. As time has passed, I've grown to really like them. As I say, audio quality is good - very good, in fact. I will admit that it outshines those budget earphones, however, it just doesn't blow them away.I ran them through a multitude of genres. Lenny Kravitz's Low has nice deep bass tones and distinct vocal notes. Mids are soft but has decent overall dynamics. For in studio vocals and live string instruments, I went for Postmodern Jukebox's All About That Bass. It's uber clean with vocals coming through sharp and separated from the punchy instruments. For a bit of Pys-goa, I went with Our Eyes, Nibana. Jim Carrey's background speech echos into the hitting beat but that's where things weren't as clear as I'd have liked. They do the job at landing, but everything isn't as distinct as it should be and the bass (when when turned up via the eq) doesn't smack your brain around like it should. It hits, but it's not hard enough. That's not to say it's a mess, it's not, but I've heard the track perform better on cheaper headphones (or land a touch more pleasingly). On the dance front, I tested Camaro by The Digital Blonde. The results here were much better, with beats hitting without bleeding into the rousing synth chorus. And to really put the buds through their place, I went with my favourite test: Rud Boy Run, Woodkid (instrument cover). The buds really delivered here, separating the high speed claps from the drums. When the strings kick in, they are not just clean but you can almost hear the crisp vibration in your ears.Overall, the presentation is premium, moving to wireless offers convenience and the audio is fantastic, but the question here is 'Should you jump onto this premium offering if it's outside the brackets of affordability like I did?'The short answer is... No, I wouldn't recommend it.There are many cheaper wireless buds on the market, and I'm not convinced the jump from budget earphones to premium earbuds is worth it as you don't get the same jump in audio quality that you do in the price. That said, I've grown to love the set and now use them primarily (and plan to keep doing so - they hide nicely under a beanie hat if you wish to keep them discreet during outdoor work), but my biggest concern is obviously losing them. I've been treating them like wedding rings, and I'm not sure how long I can do this.In conclusion, if you want premium earbuds, these are among the best according to reviews, but, while I've been impressed with the sound they offer, they aren't going to get you audiophile levels of quality, and you should think twice if feeling an impulse to them - or any top-tier buds.

Decent earbuds that try to do more than they can. Too uncomfortable to wear.
I lost my last ear buds on a trip so was pleased to look into the market again. These get great reviews about their features and their sound quality. Undeniably they are premium headphones. The gimmicks, however, are a little tiresome. The speak to hear feature is too buggy to work, and summoning Alexa is a one in ten success with speak to hear triggered more often. Calls and wind noise when outside are not happy bedfellows. The adaptive noise cancelling that should recognise whether you are walking or stationary doesn't seem to work for me, and locations never seemed to register to be a setting. The controls aren't great -- they are better on my six year old plantronics are better and the customisation in the app is pretty much take it or leave it. You'd think that volume controls, ANC and playlist actions would be things you would want all of without getting your phone out of your pocket. The worst thing however is the fit and comfort. The foam buds are murder. Not every time. But enough times. The size is determined by the sound leakage test in the app and the desire not to leave a hundred quid's worth of headphone on the pavement when turning your head. The lump is pretty big in my ears, doesn't sit well. sticks out and feels like it will waggle around. Then with any long wear enough of an ache builds up that it's not deadly, but it's just nagging and annoying. I can feel the joy seeping out of use.Lots of reviewers talk about alternative bud tips and everything else, but I'm not keen on spending another 50 quid to experiment with a bunch of different tips when the manufacturer should be providing a selection that work with these premium buds.TL:DR. Premium earbuds with a budget fit. If you happen to have the right size ears then these will be fabulous. Mine are going back.

Audio quality is great but microphone quality and ANC is not that great.
I think the sound quality was average. And, the worst part was that Microphone is the worst. And ANC is also not that great. While wearing them they used to pop out of my ears.

Quality control issues
1 month out of warranty and there is a constant metallic noise coming from the left ear when people are speaking. It's like something is vibrating inside the earbud. They performed great until this point but now very annoying to use. This is quite a common issue if you search for "wf-1000xm4 metallic noise" in Google. They're also extremely large so can't really be worn lying sideways.
