I bought 3 of these for use under pet bowls. They are perfect for the job. Very sturdy and a great size with so many uses - crafts, dining, organizing, plant tray, etc. I love the color, too.

I don't know how they ever built the pyramids or Stonehenge without duct tape, steak knives, and a good supply of these great cafe trays! Whether you know it or not, you need these things. In fact, if you think you might want, say, two trays, my advice would be to order at least six. They don't cost much, take up little storage space, and once you have them, as other reviewers have noted, you will keep discovering new ways to use them. They're among my very best tools - simple and attractive, tough, versatile and inexpensive. I know I've bought at least 20 of them in various sizes. That would probably be enough, if I hadn't shared some with friends (because they're such useful things), and if I could keep them from migrating to the basement and garage when my partner has the occasional impulse to organize. As it is, I'm ready to get "just a few" more trays soon. I need some in black to match new granite countertops, at least. The narrow bit between the sink and back door is always collecting stuff, and if you throw down car keys and dog leashes often enough, there goes the surface. My solution - you guessed it- is another cafe tray or two, which will contain the clutter and protect the counter. (Granite reminds me of rosebushes; how did either one survive for millions of years without humans to coddle them?) Of course, normal folks may not find these trays so essential. But in my house, people pile things - everywhere! Tools, keys, gloves, hats, sunglasses, cell phones, pens, toys, craft items - they all get flung down on any horizontal surface. And then there are all the papers and books, magazines and catalogs... For years, the almost-joke has run that we only see the dining table briefly at tax prep time, when the year's paperwork for once gets sorted and properly filed. I'm always seeking ways to manage the chaos, and these trays are great for setting aside unfinished projects for later, or for shifting the perennial paper clutter if we have guests, or take a wild notion to ... actually eat a meal at the table. I use them to hold plants, and to contain the mess of dog dishes, and I'd hate to deal with toddlers without them. When not otherwise occupied, they even make nice serving trays! Give them a try - if you don't like them, you're sure to know someone who would.

I've been looking everywhere to replace some old bamboo trays that my husband and I use to put our plates on to eat in front of the TV and couldn't find anything but bed trays with legs or serving trays with tall sides. Although we used to hold the bamboo trays on our laps, we do use Tablemate tables now but we still carry the food to the table on a tray. Anyway I ordered some red, some black and some blue of these 12 by 16 trays. A plate fits on them nicely and they fit on the tablemate table with plenty of room left on the table for a glass or cup. So these work nice for what I wanted. My kitchen is black and white with red accents so I ordered 2 red ones and 2 black ones for us and then thought my parents would like some. Thinking my mom would like blue I ordered 2 blue ones for her, and then 1 black one and one red one for them in case my mom, my dad, and my younger brother each wanted their own color. They weren't getting their trays until my next visit since I don't want to pay more shipping. But my husband loves the blue(UK fan) and I've found other uses that now I need to order more for them and us. I set them under house plants that already have those plastic drip trays that crack sometimes and this way I have a back up protection if they crack or overflow--it looks prettier too. I just need to order the smaller 10by14 for some of my smaller plants, or maybe the 14 by 18 for my larger ones or groups of my small ones . I also put one by the coffee pot, where there always seems to be coffee cups, etc. sitting on a towel to dry. Looks much neater on the tray, even with a kitchen towel on the tray. Anyway, I kept thinking of enough things besides just eating on them that I'll definitely be ordering more. They are hard plastic...number 5 if you always check the recycle/plastic symbol and "made in the USA". Like someone else said pretty much just like the Taco bell trays. There is an edge around the side so not flat like my bamboo trays, but not in the way when eating off a plate sitting on them. It's a small enough edge that I like it better than a flat tray. I haven't put mine in the dishwasher since I just got them. But unlike the bamboo trays that are now in the trash, they will be put in the dishwasher shortly. From the looks of them, I will be surprised if there are any problems putting them in the dishwasher. For now, I just need to figure out how many more to buy and what size and colors. The blue is really pretty and the black is pretty non obtrusive wherever you sit it. And besides just going with my other kitchen accents, I'm thinking the red might be nice for some of those plants that like the light reflected off red. Plus, I went to UofL so I'll wave my red tray when hubbie is waving his blue. Hey maybe we'll set out our college stuff on them in the TV room. Anyway so far I love these. Glad I didn't find something else in the stores before I saw these.

These are great quality and perfect for grilling! We use them with our blackstone and it’s so easy to vary all of the food we make on with them! They have a texture on the bottom making them easy to hold and nonslip! Decent size, imagine a cafeteria lunch tray, it’s about that size minus the compartments a lunch tray normally has! Thickness wise- they are great thickness. Not too thin where you fear things won’t hold up!

Great for carrying food all at once, I don’t use it to carry drinks but I use it for plates, bowls, side dishes. Also great for eating pizza no dishes just out the pizza on here. So easy to wash but it does not fit in the dishwasher. Also really great if you’re eating food your ordered in. Honestly might come in handy if you eat in your car on lunch breaks depending on your set up of course. But I have this in two sizes the bigger size and slightly smaller. Both sizes do not fit in the dishwasher or at least my dish washer. Had a friend visiting and I gave her a tray as we ordered Mexican food. She laughed when I gave her the tray and within a min said if she didn’t have the tray she would have made a huge mess on the couch as her food leaked and the tray caught it all! I use lighter dishes on this usually reusable plastic dishes or a ceramic dinner plate and a small ceramic dipping dish. It’s been great for what I use no issues with the weight on these. Also! I do not have a table to eat at so this is so much nicer if you have to eat over your lap like myself.

I love these trays because they have a bit of a textured surface so your plate doesn't slide while walking with your tray, the only negative I have to say is that one of the two trays I had ordered before was not flat anymore in the middle after a while so your plate wouldn't stay in place that's why I ordered two more hopefully these two will not do that.
