XVJ04Z 18V LXT® Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless Jig Saw, Tool Only

This jigsaw feels like a $200 tool. For me it replaces a cheaper (orange) jigsaw that I did not like all that much. So when I could not remove the blade from the cheaper jigsaw, I tossed it and bought this one.Speaking of price, at $200 this is not a cheap jigsaw. It is not even cheap as Makita jigsaws go. I have no experience with the more budget friendly Makita jigsaws, but this saw is the cat's meow IMHO.Compared with the old saw:1. The Makita cuts faster in straight mode than the old one did with the blade oscillating.2. The Makita cuts much smoother with the same blade.3. Changing the blade is smoother with the Makita (when I could change the blade on the old saw). I especially like the fact that the (chuck?) stays locked in insert mode so you don't have to hold it, and automatically reverts to sawing mode once the blade is inserted.4. The light and the effective blower on the Makita make it easy to see your cut line.5. The Makita has a bit more heft. Still, it is more comfortable to hold and easier to maneuver around curves.To be fair, the old tool served me reasonbly well for several years, and I could have taken advantage of its lifetime warranty. But I needed a jigsaw for a project I was working on, so I decided to try this Makita. It was a definite upgrade (see preceeding). Not surprising given the price difference.Some people have noted that the older XVJ02 has a faster and longer stroke, but I doubt you would be disappointed by the speed of this saw.I highly recommend this saw as long as you don't feel that $200 for a jigsaw is ridiculous. (Have you priced a Festool jigsaw? LOL)

Should have bought this years ago. I love Makita cordless tools. Make sure you get some larger batteries to avoid job interruptions.

Very well built, good ergonomics, great power, solid performer.

Solid wireless jigsaw with great power and smooth cuts. The tool-less blade change is awesome, and the built-in hex key in the photo makes 0 or 45 bevel adjustments quick and easy.

Happy with this tool, just as all my other Makita tools. Quality.

Great jig saw with plenty of power! It's a nice addition to my 18v Makita line up. My only gripe is that the Lock/Unlock button has to be pushed every time I pick up the saw to use, luckily it's conveniently positioned to press it with my thumb. The saw clears debris away from the blade quite well while using it making it easy to follow the cut line.

Very happy with this, I almost use it more than my circular saw at this point. The shoe does sometimes come loose, but it's easy to get back into 90

It took me a while to finally pull the trigger on this one. I do a lot of woodworking and I love Makita products. Although in the last year prices have gone up for all power tools. This one was very well worth the money. Easy to control yet very powerful this little jigsaw will get the job done

届いてから、外国仕様の機器と分かりました。取説が読めずに苦労しました、特にブレードの脱着には日本語の取説が必要かと思います（ネットで調べました）。使用感は良いのですが「国内向けの同タイプ（代替品）」がもっと安く携帯ケースまで付属だったのでもっと調べてから購入すべきだっと悔やんでいます。
