Ski and Snowboard Harness for Kids: Learn to Ski and Teach Your Child The Speed Control

Really good training harness we took it to Rockies and it helped to get less stress for kid and parent to go down on bigger slopes and work on turns. When in training areas we put ropes back to small pocket and it didn’t bother. Also lift operators used to pullback on the lifts. Highly recommend over some cheaper harnesses

We used it for our ski trip when my daughter was 3.5 yo. Product fits well, worked well, and the backpack is very convenient, I even used it for small snacks. She seemed to be comfortable, never complained.

Appreciate that the leashes are adjustable so I had enough space to ski behind my son while still controlling him. The waist kept coming loose so I had to rethread it doubled over so it would stop slipping, but never came off and I never lost control of my son. At the end of the trip my son could just use it as a backpack too. Purchased based on a recommendation from a friend and would recommend to others as well.

Pros: - Has been super useful with teaching our 2 and 4 year old to ski— especially our youngest. - Decent quality for the price… it’s definitely not luxe, but it’s not a luxe price point so I think it’s fair. - Small and relatively compact! - Durable enough for the type of skiing you use it for :) - You can tuck your kids’ skis in between their back and the backpack for the walk up, which is super helpful! Cons: - Not super fitted for small kids (40 lbs or less). There was a lot of gaping for our youngest, despite all the layers) - No great “storage” for straps so they just hang around and get tangled easily - A bit of a pain to adjust the straps - especially when snowy/icy

At first I thought it was going to be too small, but this is the second harness we have used and it is comparable in size and fits well on my 3 year old and my 6 year old (as pictured). The harness is standard and easy to adjust. The hand grip on the top works great and is easy to grip in gloves for lifting kids onto chair lifts. The stearing attachments can be adjusted to a good long length or short for more control for your kids 1st day on the slopes. In the description it says that the snowboard configuration is the attachment in the back, but we found that using the same ski configuration with two stearing attachments worked well with snowboarding as well when you need to demonstrate hip rotation for turns. In all, I prefer this harness to our other and it is great because when I'm done with it I can fit all components in my pant cargo pockets since it folds up so small.

My 5 year old daughter was doing okay at skiing but was having a hard time understanding the concept of her edges. She didn’t fall much, but would usually just Bomb down the bunny hill. This harness made it easier to stay with her and give her instant feedback on her technique. You can give her slack, so she is skiing on her own but stop her if she starts taking off too fast. There is even elastic sewn into the leads so it is a gentle correction for her. The quality of the product is incredible. I was expecting thinner material with lesser quality seems etc. because it’s only $37 (shipped!) How good could it be, right? If someone handed this to me and asked me what I thought it cost, I would have said $75, easy. The only thing that sucks about this product, is that once my daughter gets comfortable on her edges, I won’t need it anymore. I’ll probably just give it to another family on the hill with a small child at that point. I’ll get a video review up soon, when we get another chance to go skiing.

Not to bash on the product, because the product is exceptionally well made with great quality; but, for a dad who wanted to teach his sons to snowboard (I did buy three of these because they are made with great quality), i felt like this hindered my kids from learning to fall, as part of learning to snowboard. As great as this product is, I felt like I was “handicapping” my kids learning curve. Instead, what I did, I bought knee pads, butt pads, helmet (of course - don’t even doubt about this), and let them figure out how to “stop” while giving them space between me and my child (I.e. 5 feet away), and I started to see progress, I widened my distance so they can come towards me. Mind you for snowboarding, this was difficult to manage my kids in; but, I think this is a great “tool” for new skiers.

I wish this was able to be cinched to fit my child’s body. The straps can be tightened, but the mechanism doesn’t hold for long so it makes picking her up while skiing using the handle more difficult

Ski harness worked great! It looks cool and isblow profile so the kids like wearing it. Straps are easy to attach and remove but won't accidentally release. Using the harness made a huge improvement to family happiness on the hill because it allowed our kids freedom and safety and made it physically easier on us. Best used by keeping the straps slack and only pulling the the straps for safety. Straps also work great for towing.
