Love Conquers All
Daisy Bristol, the widowed Lady Chatwick, has come to the Scottish Highlands to escape the fortune hunters who are courting her. She must marry soon or lose her entire fortune. She needs to consider her young son, Ellis. He's her world. When her first love, Robert, contacts her and wants to offer for her, she's elate but her time at Auchenard Lodge, changes her as well as Ellis. Can she trust Robert? Will necessity force her to return to England and follow her late husband's dictates? Or is her true love here? Daisy is a refreshing character. She's a force of nature who wants to experience life and find happiness. I didn't want her to be used by men to gain power and wealth. She deserves better. I enjoyed her flirtation with her neighbor, Laird Arrandale. He has no love for the Sassenach and wants Daisy gone, but their chemistry is amazing. Their battle of wills and flirtatious banter drew me in. I knew that these two are soulmates. Cailean Mackenzie is stubborn. He won't admit that he cares. I wanted to shake him. I know that he was hurt before, but he needed to move on. I wanted them together. With so many problems I wasn't sure there would be a HEA. Julia London kept me up late. I couldn't put down Sinful Scottish Laird. I loved the larger than life characters, the rugged setting and the passionate romance. I fell in love with Cailean. He's a true hero. I'm loving The Highland Grooms series.

Betrayal at its worst. With her family and caretakers
Julia London is one of those authors who knows how to hook you in the historical genre. She breathes life into the setting and characters so that you are transported to a different place and time. Her latest novel follows a widow on a trek to from London to Scotland trying to temporarily escape the confines and suitors that her late husband's will impose on her. Although the marriage was an arranged one, she was dutiful and caring and thought her marriage evolved into a loving, respectful relationship. After her husband dies, she finds out that her role was more about providing an heir and that her late husband did not believe her capable of making decisions about her son's future. Thus, the will required she marry within 3 years or lose her son's inheritance. Betrayal at its worst. With her family and caretakers, she embarks on a trip to a far off and little used property to escape and ponder her fate. Throw in a long lost love from her youth, a wild and handsome Scottish man with his own responsibilities and issues, a little bit of smuggling, London's ability to transport you to places and times unseen, and you will find that hook that will make any rainy day pass rather quickly.I rate it a 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Awesome! Could not put it down!
I am thoroughly enjoying the writing of Julia London! She is the most recent addition to my "must read" list of authors. Cailean and Daisy's story was beautiful. It captured my attention from the very start, and I found myself reading into the wee hours of the morning. I'm so anxious for the next in the Highland Grooms series!

I like this author
The story line was interesting but there was no depth to any of the characters. Also, using the term scotch instead of scots is not accurate and was a distraction from the story.

Well written but perhaps a bit short on H/h chemistry
Julia London writes so well that I normally have her on "auto-buy" but for some reason this series escaped my notice, so I'm late to this party... But I really enjoyed this story. There is a great sense of setting and of the times (though sometimes it seemed we might have slipped into the following century a bit...) and the romance was lovely. I am not sure what was missing but there was a bit of a lack of chemistry between H/h and other characters were not totally explained (like her son -- why was he such a sickly child? why did he get better so fast? I missed something there.) That said, it was a good read even if I won't read it again.

Cailean & Daisy, a story of overcoming
I so enjoy this family and their story just wets my appetite for even more. The children of Arran and Margot are coming into their own. Cailean had shoved his own chance at love so far down. But can beautiful Daisy who is on a deadline find what she was missing in her marriage? She thought she had grown to love and care for her husband but then finds he never reciprocated. And she has her frail son to consider. When Daisy first meets Cailean she feels the spark, and so will you. I can't wait for the next book but after reading this one I had to go back and relive the joy of the previous books. This family saga lives on!!!

Another Hot Scot!
So enjoyable! Especially as it is read by Derek Perkins, listen to the audio version if you can. Derek puts so much emotion into his narration. I didn’t want the story to end.

Spirited h
I liked both leads in this. The h had spirit without being mean with it. H was a nice alpha

A nice series
I really liked this novel - it's not as spellbinding as the first novel but the plot and story tell of the hardship that England levied onto Scotland as they did on every country they ruled - so glad the characters continue in the new generation - Cailean and Daisy have a love story that is soulful, it would have been difficult for a Scot and an English Viscountess to marry because of the class difference of the era but with Scotland in turmoil it would be better for them to stay in England - well written and interesting novel

Love this story!
Love this story, the second in the Highland Grooms series. Daisy must marry soon or lose her son's inheritance, but men are only interested in her fortune. Except for the frowning Cailean. Have reread the book several times already. Only wish I had been able to find a new copy instead of buying used even though the book was published only two years ago.
