I own an iPhone 5S, an iPad and an iPad Mini of varying ages. All the original Apple cables slowly started dying earlier this year and I've been replacing them piecemeal.This Lukati was the first purchased (the others being a 3ft Anker and 3ft iXCC, see my other reviews for which held out) on February 5, 2015 and it completely stopped working on August 21st. At first I figured it couldn't be the cable but just have been the power block, but not so. I have tested it in every block, USB wall-powered hub, car charger and laptop USB I have, all to no avail.It gave absolutely no problems before this and I really loved the 4ft length, which was perfect for the bedside; Long enough without creating an ugly cord mess.A 6 month lifespan was not expected or ideal, but not completely awful for the price point ($11.47 when I purchased).

Its okay, but the Amazon label is misleading. The "Lukati Lightning to USB Cell Phone Charger And Data Cable does NOT include a charger, AND it's not 4 feet. It is actually, 47 inches. On a positive note, the cable is more rugged than the Apple product.

Hmm. Received cable today and plug it in for first time use. Immediately received the message, "This cable is not certified and may not work with your Apple device." Got no response with my iPhone from the first charging unit. Plugged it into a different charging unit, and this time the iPhone responded. So far so good, I guess, although who knows what glitches the future will bring?

This cable does not fit the otterbox case for the iPhone 6 (otterbox defender I believe - whichever is the most heavy duty otterbox case). Since this is not the easiest case to remove it's not something I'd even consider doing on a daily basis to charge my phone - especially when there are other similarly priced cables out there that do fit without a problem. No idea why the connector needs to be so fat - but it certainly means it's not quite as compatible with the cases as they claim it to be.

This is one of the few cables that works with a Lifeproof iPhone 5 waterproof case. It works just fine, but you will get a message at times that it is not certified to work with the device. It does though.

*At least* half the time, my phone doesn't start charging with this cable. Often when it doesn't work, I have to try 3-4 times before it works. Bad news since I got this for my car; sometimes I'll be in a hurry and using it for GPS and then get to my destination to find that not only is my phone not charged, but the battery's been heavily depleted. This has pretty much convinced me to only buy Apple cables. Just not worth the risk/hassle to save a few dollars.

There's not much to evaluate when it comes to lightning cables. Basically the 4 yes or no questions below followed by my answers regarding this cable:1) Is it solidly built? Yes.2) Does it charge your iDevice with a wall charger? Yes.3) Does it successfully transfer data (connect to your computer)? Yes.4) Does it last? Time will tell. Will have to update my review after a while.I got this 4ft cable primaily to us in my car as that is the exact length I needed to go from my 12v port to my vent phone holder. It connects very snugly and is immediately recognized by my iphone 6. The wire is a little stiffer than I'd like but I'm hoping that is an indication of it being sturdy enough to last.

I bought this charger because there were few 4ft chargers on amazon that had positive reviews. After figuring that all the positive reviews outweighed the negative, I purchased the item. Out of the box, it appears to have a nice build quality. After plugging it in though, it failed to charge my phone half of the time I plugged it in. It would either say nothing and not charge, or it would say "this accessory is not designed for this device" or whatever the message pops up when devices aren't certified. Sometimes I would plug it in without issue, but more than half the time it failed, and that's just not acceptable. I could have just gotten a defective one, but the fact that it did work sometimes made me think that the product is just crap. It is in the process of being returned.
