Works fine. No need to mess around trying to tighten a cuff with one hand. Just slips on and you tighten with the dial. Easy.

Seems good and to give a good reading. I do tend to leave the back of the battery cover off when using. This is only me, but I feel that if it for some reason started working wrong the pressure on your arm could continue to increase and you have no way of stopping it unless you can grab hold of those batteries and pull them out. It does have a release pull on it which would probably work. Maybe I watch to many films. 😂 On a plus side it does tell you if it's on wrong for a reading and you haven't got any tubes to place in the right area. FOLLOW UP. It staeted to give of strange symbals not the battery, and seemed to add to much pressure that made it uncomfortable and painfull to use if it showed a proper reading, getting worried it may continue to inflat rather than stop when it shouldm so sent back, the amount of pain it caused also if it did read correct meant it wasn't something you would want to use for regular check on bp

I bought this to take on holiday, while I was having issues with another device I was trying and was planning to return. This is actually a lot bigger than I anticipated, but it works well and is easier to use than the Velcro straps. It’s a tube you put your arm in, then turn a dial to tighten around your arm. Not sure how long the tightening mechanism will last, it uses nylon chord, which may be a weak spot, but it seems to be holding out. It would be better if this had a USB rechargeable battery instead of 4xAAAs. Not managed to get the app to work with the device, as I’d need to set up an account (entering my details. More usernames and passwords. Why does the company need my BP readings ?), I couldn’t be bothered with that. Other devices just link with my phone. But the readings seem accurate and it’s easy to fit. I’m not sure it would be durable. Have used it for 3 months without an issue, so willing to give it the benefit of the doubt.

M’n eerste Beuer BM 81 raakte na 6 weken defect, de tweede functioneerde in het geheel niet. De derde, op Amazon aangeschafte BM 81 was net als de vorige twee moeilijk aan de praat te krijgen, maar met de eerder toegepaste startmethode (o.a. speciale contactspray) lukte het toch. Opvallend dit keer was het batterijcompartiment. Eén van de AAA-tjes bleef klem zitten en kon ik slechts met behulp van een bijgeslepen haaknaald verwijderen. Weer een voorbeeld van slechte controle na productie. De manchet werkt wel, maar de draaiknop loopt zwaar waardoor de manchet moeilijk van de arm is af te schuiven. De gemeten bloeddrukwaarden zijn af en toe wat afwijkend van m’n andere meters, hoewel ik altijd op dezelfde wijze tewerk ga, met het oog op de zo belangrijke herhalingsnauwkeurigheid. Dus voeten naast elkaar op de grond, rug tegen de stoelleuning, de niet dominante onderarm plat op tafel met de handpalm omhoog, manchet op harthoogte, merkteken op de arteria brachialis (bovenarm slagader), rustig ademen en niet bewegen tijdens de meting. Toch ga ik ervan uit dat de metingen met de BM 81 behoorlijk betrouwbaar zijn. Pluspunten van de Beuer BM 81: de metingen verlopen snel en zijn goed afleesbaar. Nadelen: slechte dan wel geen kwaliteitscontrole en hoog batterijverbruik. Samengevat: het concept van de Beuer BM 81 is uitstekend, maar de uitvoering laat zeer te wensen over. Koopadvies: negatief.

Blutdruckmessgeräte für den Oberarm sind normalerweise immer sehr fummelig, wegen des Schlauches zwischen Messgerät und Manschette. Es gibt da bereits einige Alternativen, die Gerät und Manschette zusammen gelegt haben, um die Bedienung zu vereinfachen. Zu nennen sind hier z.B. das Omron Evolv oder das Withings BPM. Allerdings sind das beide Geräte, die ich einem älteren Patienten eher nicht empfohlen hätte. Das Withings zielt mehr auf die Gruppe Lifestyle-Kunden und ist ohne App nicht nutzbar. Das Omron Evolv ist eigentlich ein tolles Gerät, aber das Display ist recht klein und die Anzeige nicht sehr übersichtlich. Es ist auch nur für einen Benutzer ausgelegt. Das Beurer BM 81 easyLock ist nun ein "normales" Oberarmgerät in der kompakten Bauform, was zusätzlich noch einen anderen Manschettenverschluß mitbringt. Meine Oberarme sind etwas dicker, also war ich gespannt, wie sich die easyLock-Manschette anlegen lässt. Das ging überraschend gut. Weitet man die Manschette und dreht dann am Rad, zieht sie sich zusammen. Das sollte man erstmal "trocken", also ohne das Gerät am Arm zu haben probieren. Etwas verwirrend ist, dass zuerst beim Drehen nichts passiert. Doch irgendwann fängt das Rad beim Drehen an zu rattern und die Manschette zieht sich zusammen. Beim Anziehen sollte man die Manschette genug weiten, falls man z.B. eine Armbanduhr trägt, muss die mit durch die Manschette. Die Lage muss dann an der Arterie ausgerichtet werden. Das ist am Gerät eingezeichnet. Die Lage ist dann bei mir leider so, dass das Display während der Messung nicht mehr ganz so gut abzulesen ist. Ich muss sagen, mir gefällt das Gerät gut. Das ist ein Gerät, was ich durchaus empfehlenswert finde. Das Gerät trägt ein Siegel der ESH, das verweist auf die geprüfte Messgenauigkeit. Das Beurer BM 81 easyLock arbeitet auch problemlos mit der App BlutdruckDaten zusammen. Messungen können direkt per Bluetooth übertragen werden, die Beurer-App ist dazu nicht notwendig. Bei der ersten Übertragung muss das Gerät einmalig gekoppelt werden, dazu wird ein 6-stelliger PIN angezeigt, der dann am Smartphone eingegeben werden muss. Ab dann werden alle Messungen übertragen, wie man das auch von anderen Beurer Geräten gewohnt ist.

This is worth buying. Very easy to use and can sync to your phone. Only downside is, it doesn't come with a pouch to keep it safe. Now I'm in a search for a hard case. Problem is, most hard cases are for Omron device, not too sure if it will fit the BM81
