Loved it! Couldn't stop watching.
I had to buy the whole season to instantly view because I just could not wait to watch the season that I missed this year. This season was freaking awesome! *Spoiler stuff below.* I missed the theme song a bit, but I can see now that Annie is evolving more into an edgier agent who is killing people and stealing things for her survival, I think she outgrew the old song and dance. The show started to shock me a bit more, so the surprises are still coming.I think this season showed a bit more realistic take on what a clandestine CIA agent really has to do/deal with. Her long off book assignment out of the country is more in line with what I think a real mission would be like. Not always being able to phone home, and have your boss hold your hand throughout the process, like in the last 3 seasons. How hot was that guy who was renting her an apt? Too bad she didn't hit that in light of what Auggie did later with Miss Cankles. Tisk tisk Auggie! There was definitely more isolation and Annie relying on herself this season. She did not do it perfectly, which made you relate. But the only thing that really bugs me is they always have her looking around suspiciously. OKAY, if you're in the CIA, you have to play it cool. Use reflective surfaces and all that. Don't be so obvious, Annie!I loved her & Auggie together in the beginning of the season, but you know shows aren't happy leaving happy couples as they are, so they threw a wrench between the two. Of course he still cares about her safety and whatever, but if I were Annie, I don't know if I would forgive him next season. If you saw, you know what I'm talking about. How about Joan and Arthur and that whole scandal! I hope Arthur somehow gets back into the CIA. I miss him not being in every episode.I gotta say, I wasn't exactly sure how they were going to write Annie back from the dead/"going dark," but I'm glad they did. Regarding Miss Cankles (Auggie's ex) - I felt so bad for her that Henry did her so dirty. Geeze, that was cold! I'm glad Annie+Auggie's new boss ended up being on their side. He really knows his shizz.I LOVE Eyal! I was so glad he has a little role this season. He is awesome, and I loved the chemistry he and Annie had before. In the previous season when he asked her to go with him and sail away, I was like, "Go Annie Go! He is gorgeous. Get on that!" Maybe, just maybe he will be back and take Auggie's place later as Annie's main man, who knows? :)Dying to see what's in store next season!

Great Show!
Covert affairs has been a highly entertaining series. The plot has been an ongoing commentary about intelligence gathering, duplicity and rogue operations as well as protocol and ethics in the CIA. Characters are well developed and the actors are superb. Just how close it comes to reality is for the audience to decide. I don't think we will ever really know how good and how evil operates when forced to work together both in the mind and the culture, but it has to be somewhere in the realm of insanity. This series touches on that in the person of Henry Wilcox, a very well depicted evil guy, and Annie Walker, a "good" person who one could see as tripping over the line someday, except that she IS the hero in the series. The ability to stand and watch someone being tortured, for the sake of remaining under cover..in the show's plot (or to one's mind...for the "greater good" as in prisons...in real life... is an example of this evil insanity that is going on around the world today.)Admittedly there are some laughable scenes to me, one of which was Annie handing a business card to someone and telling him to memorize the phone number on it and then get rid of it. He memorized it on the spot, standing on the street in broad daylight and then burned it in front of Annie. There is that element of Covert Affairs showing that covert actions are going on in "broad daylight" all around us, but we just do not engage in addressing our current world affairs enough. It is a bit like me when I wake up in the morning and choose to "not see" the disheveled living room and dining room as I make my way to the kitchen for some coffee. I can't deal with it and decide not to see it. It anything, besides good PR for the CIA, the series should give us all something to wake up to as to what is going on in the world in the realm of governments, terror, and security. The average citizen is totally nothing in this series. We have literally no part except to feel duped, or to be invited to engage with the CIA as informers, as Annie's sister does, when she learns her own sister is a spy. But she is portrayed as a "type" of who we the American people are. Loved, but very inconsequential in the big picture.

Great! Covert Affairs is great
Great! Covert Affairs is great, packed with action, drama, suspense and mystery that keeps me intrigued, impressed and entertained with every show. The inside story of the CIA and operations performed with an outstanding cast, especially Piper and the rest of the team is my favorite and one of the best, if not the best, tv series. Annie is my favorite character with some many impressive qualities, like empathy, fortitude, loyalty, tenacity, resourceful, smart, strong and more. Piper's personality is so lovable and plays this character so well with tremendous talent, grace, poise and some of the same characteristics as Annie that make the Annie character real, personable, a great friend, teammate, ally and more. Annie's tremendous intuition, ability to improvise and courage to overcome imminent threats, obstacles, challenges and villains effectively with intelligence is sometimes remarkably amazing leaving my intrigue always wanting more and looking forward to the next episode.Season 4 has developed the Covert Affairs and Annie to a new level in the spy game where key players lives' are at a much higher risk and Annie is more mature and natural in her role as an international spy for the people that she cares deeply about. Her ability to stay focused on the mission and finding a way to accomplish it with the people in her life often is so amazing that it feels like I'm watching Hollywood box office espionage hit movie rather than a television series. This is one of the great attributes that makes Covert Affairs and Annie and her friends, associates, etc., such a successful television series and the best tv series on the USA Network channel. I really look forward to watching the next season with great anticipation.

Better this series than any of the previous ones Pity it's the penultimate series
I started out by really hating this series that I bought for the teenagers in our family. But begged into downloading more and more series episodes on iTunes, I looked on Amazon and found (yet again - no surprise) that the box set cost a lot less to buy in a physical format. This series I have to say, was a lot more engaging than some of the earlier series, however I have been informed by my daughter that it is the penultimate series. Oh dear.

Series has developed nicely
I enjoyed the three previous seasons of Covert Affairs but season 4 is fantastic. The plot, the acting and the development of the main characters make it so good. It seems to take on a slightly darker path too which simply increases the tension and excitement.Love it. Now for Season 5........
