Great buy, husband uses weekly and it is soft and has held up for almost 2 years now. Very durable. At first it smells like an animal, but that quickly goes away.

I am 73 years old, I have sensitive skin and a course beard. I have used everything possible to shave with on the market. I ordered the 1-Rocky Mountain Shaving Brush with Stand - Pure 100% Best Badger Hair Barber Grade with Black Heavy Duty All-Resin Handle and Oversized Bristle Head; 2-Jet & Co 100% Silvertip Badger Hair Shaving Brush, Handmade Shaving Brush with Fine Resin Handle and Stainless Steel Base (Brown). I previously have my grandfather’s Gillette Sterling 100 T badger shaving two toned brush in black and cream handle fitted with a 21 mm finest two band badger knot. This is the roughest of the two above and the smallest. When the Rocky Mountain arrived, which was huge, I was in love, and I thought for sure this will be the one I keep so obviously 5*****. Then the 100% Silvertip Badger Hair by Jet arrived the softest, for sure this will be the one I keep so obviously 5*****. I shaved several times they both continue to be excellent. So I brought in my wife’s legs and had her try all 3 brushes. She disliked the old Sterling being so course. Then she loved the Rocky Mountain because it was huge and softer. Finally she tried the Silvertip Badger and loved it. Then she tried it on the back of her legs and she loved the large Rocky Mountain! So I had made up my mind because I already had something course and small. She finally admitted that the Rocky Mountain was 5***** but so was the Silvertip. She agreed and we returned the Huge Rocky Mountain non-silvertip - but I might get it again depending upon yearnings. If you need a brush and this is your first brush get the huge Rocky Mountain you don’t need the silvertip. If you have a big face get Rocky Mountain. If you have $20 more get these 2 great 5***** brushes based on all the other reviews. You can’t make a mistake either brush but for $20 more get them both. I would have kept both of them, but I already have my grandfathers and I’m 73 how many do I really need? If you want a Silvertip get the Jet it works great.

I've been shaving with a double edge safety razor for about a year now and had to glue the bristles to the handle while I shopped for a replacement. This was the first time I used a Badger hair shaving brush. Aside from a slight smell, which went away with shaving cream, and black water that came out of the brush when squeezing it 10 hours later, it produced a rich, thick lather. The brush also held in the heat which helped to soften the stubble. I got a closer shave without any nicks with a 1-week old blade. BTW, I showed 2 ways to hold the brush in the stand. Other reviews complained that the stand wasn't tall enough but it's not designed to hang from the base of the handle. I only gave it 4 stars because of the slight temporary smell and black water that came out of it.

I bought this shaving brush with stand, along with the Rocky Mountain Barber Shaving Cream. I am getting the closest shaves I have ever experienced even while using my cheap disposable razors. The scent is very masculine, which my wife loves. Using a shaving brush is a new experience for me so I had to watch a video.

I didn’t think I would like this as much as I do. The brush is very high-quality and easy to use. It lathers to a point that I didn’t think of possible. It makes the smoothest lather of shaving cream possible while also slightly exfoliating the skin and bringing up the hair to be cut. it looks pretty durable and compact. The stand is an amazing addition because it allows it to fully dry and gives it a sleep look. I love it 10 out of 10

I've use this brush for a few months now. Will say I'm impressed with the quality. Have not had any bristle sheading and the stiffness of bristles is nice. It's a nice dense knot. Will definitely buy again when this one wears out if it is still available in 5+ years that I expect to get out of it.

I just love this brush! Softly caresses your face while you are applying shaving soap - as long as you paint it on, don't jab. Easy to apply soap. Easily works up a great lather both in the bowl and on your face. Easy to rinse out, dries out almost instantly. Love the handle, just right to hold and will never deteriorate. Never was any smell to this brush from day 1 and zero shedding thusfar. Just one tip: It is better to let the brush soak for a few minutes before using it rather than just running water over it for 30 seconds, as some people do. I am immensely pleased to have made this purchase. Thanks, Rocky Mountain, for selling such a quality product for a more than reasonable price!

Just received my brush and am very impressed with it. It works up a lather way better than the Wilkinson Sword brush I bought a few months ago to try. Am using the Wilkinson Sword shaving soap as well and the lather is night and day thicker using the new brush. I found the bristles with the old brush way too soft and the new one is way stiffer which I really like. Great product at a very competitive price point.

Recently changed to a bar soap for shaving legs and had a cheap brush to start. Got this and at first felt scratchy but as it broke in, it's amazing. I can see why guys love badger hair brushes for the face. :D

This is an outstanding product! I was using a Wilkinson brush with synthetic hair. This brush is lightyears ahead in feel and ability to create soap lather. It feels softer and does not shed hair. For the price it's worth buying. Transform your wet shave experience.

This brush was not made in Canada, the box shows it was made in China and imported by Rocky Mountain Barber Company. The bristles are quite soft and hold a good amount of shaving cream. The plastic stand that it comes with allows the brush to be held with the bristles facing up or down. It is a good size and is comfortable to hold even with wet hands. Like other brushes it tends to lose bristles for the first few times you use it, that is normal and has happened with other brushes I have bought as well. There is a bit of an odour to the brush but it seems to have faded after a couple of uses. So far I am enjoying this brush but would have preferred if RMBC was more transparent about where it was manufactured.

Ideal for me when shaving, good feel and able to produce a good lather.
