Hoplessly unhelpful hand book.
There is no way of freeing the spool for casting unless you wind off the star drag completely. There is a little lever on the under side labelled "pull&turn" which does nothing so I'm returning this. Right this is time to eat my words~I have found the spool release and very effective it is with a natural re-engagement on turning the handle (the last multiplier I bought was a Garcia Mitchell surf caster from over 30 years ago). The little lever's purpose still escapes me. The handbook should cover such things with a little, labelled diagram so that keeps this down to a 3 star rating. If Chinese companies wish to break into the western markets they need better translators and a quick look at a Western style hand book will show them the way. I'm no longer returning this item as it now appears serviceable.
