Got this as a gift, I won't be playing it and they probably won't either, but I tuned it just for the fun of it. The Kalimba is from a culture with no written language and thus no way to collectively decide on a "right" way to tune it or even how many keys it should have. Thus, it's up to you, your source material and the instrument. I spent a couple hours tinkering and it seems to like G4-E4-B3-A3-C4-D4-F#4. Get a tuner app on your phone. Slightly loosen the screws and pull the tines out to sharpen and push in to flatten- they can move side to side or turn without affecting pitch much so you can splay them far enough to play easily.
