I help to run a club giving disabled people the opportunity to try out a sport and we're always on the look out for disposable cutlery and crockery for our sessions. I don't like the idea of using plastic since it invariably ends up in landfill and using metal and pottery isn't an option due to the lack of washing up facilities at our site, and the risks of breakage.These wooden cutlery items are reasonably sturdy and biodegradable. A pack of 150 costs £8, which is reduced to £7.20 with the use of a current Amazon 10% off voucher, which is good value at under 5p an item.Whilst they do arrive in wrapped in a plastic bag inside a box, these bags are now recyclable at most larger supermarkets, meaning everything that arrives can be recycled (if properly handled) and nothing needs to go into landfill.Good value.

This wooden disposable cutlery is an excellent replacement for plastic, under most circumstances.They are packed in a cardboard box, but with the cutlery in a plastic bag inside.The cutlery itself is probably equal to most plastic cutlery. The knife is possibly not as sharp, but on the other hand, it’s less bendy than plastic disposable knives tend to be. On the whole, probably OK for most types of food, although I wouldn’t expect it to deal well with steak.Be aware, however, that the spoon is quite flat compared to plastic spoons, so if you’re serving soup, people are going to be eating for a very long time!These will be very useful for our summer barbecue!

I've been buying eco friendly plates & bowls to save on washing up so when I saw this cutlery set I wanted to try it.You get a huge amount of all three utensils which is good, of course they're only a one time use which is fine by me as it saves washing up.The main downfall is they're quite splintery!

50 pieces each of knives, forks and spoons.There doesn't seem to be any splintering, but one or two of the forks do look a little grey in places. I'm hoping that it's just natural wood colouring and not mould.They do have quite a woody smell, but hopefully that will soon pass when left out for a while.There's plenty to go around for any celebration and it's nice to know that one is doing ones bit for the environment.
