LapWorks Soft Grip Handle Stand with Pencil Storage and Travel Band to Hold Keyboard Cover Compatible with 2019 10.5 iPad Air and 2017 10.5 iPad Pro

I spent quite a few hours researching cases I could get for my new IPad Pro 10.5 inch, and I chose this one because it has almost every feature I was looking for in a case:* A kickstand that can rotate 360 degrees, meaning the IPad can stand up in either landscape or portrait based on your preference* A hand strap on the back (the hand strap transforms into a kickstand and vice versa - nice!)* A secure holder for the Apple Pencil* A holder for the Apple Pencil charging adapter* It doesn't cover the front of the IPad - this means the screen is exposed, but also that you don't have to open up a cover to use it (convenient)* A flat backside (no ridges or anything to get in the way of you fingers when you're holding the IPad by its backside)* Lightweight (4 ounces)*Honorable mention: Unlike a lot of other cases, it's compatible with plug-in keyboards like the Apple Smart Keyboard. This isn't of any benefit to me personally, as I'm planning to get an ergonomic Bluetooth keyboard, but I'm sure others will appreciate it.I haven't been able to find any other case that combines all of these features in one product--not for the IPad Pro 10.5 inch anyway (the options for the 9.7 inch and 12.9 inch are much greater).I received mine not long ago, and so far, I really like it. It does add a little weight to the IPad (manufacturer says 4 oz, or 1/4 of a pound). It's annoying but unavoidable, and the weight it adds is much less weight than any other case with a hand strap that I could find (others I found generally weighed about from 10 ounces to 16 ounces/1 pound). Speaking of the hand strap, it feels quite secure, and the holder for the Apple Pencil is also quite snug and convenient (and out of the way--the Apple Pencil doesn't interfere with your hand). The hand strap can be easily removed from the case entirely , allowing for the IPad to be laid down flat on a desk or other surface (when the hand strap is removed, there's a very tiny protrusion from the case where the hand strap goes, but it still lays down flat and stable enough that you can type on the IPad and write/draw using the Apple Pencil without the IPad wobbling.) The case material itself is also fairly comfortable.There are a few cons:* Price. At roughly $45, it isn't the cheapest case. But it's also not the most expensive, and it's great that you get so many features in one case.* You can't angle the kickstand to your liking; although it can turn 360 degrees to accommodate portrait and landscape orientations, the forward angle can't be adjusted. But it's a decent angle that is sufficient for my purposes.* The kickstand is too small to allow you to use it while sitting in your lap. This isn't a problem for me, but it might be for you.* The case is a bit of a fingerprint magnet.* Not the most protective case. It does cover the back of the IPad fully (except for cutouts where appropriate - the camera is recessed into a hole, which is great protection for the camera). But it's clearly not the most rugged case, and I wouldn't want to drop the IPad to test it. Also, the screen doesn't receive any protection at all, so if you want to protect that, you'll have to buy a separate screen protector. (I haven't, as I'm afraid a screen protector will interfere with the sensitivity of the Apple Pencil). Something has to give though--a more rugged case would undoubtedly be heavier and less comfortable to hold. At least with the handstrap, I don't have to worry so much about dropping the IPad while walking around with it! (For better protection, I do plan to get a separate sleeve to store the IPad in when I travel.)All that said, I'm pleased with the product so far and would recommend that anyone looking for this combination of features purchase it. I will update this review after I've spent some more time with it in case anything changes.

Functionality and comfort of this case is quite good, however plastic buckle on one end of the hand strap broke after only about 18 months of normal use - upon examination it's no surprise as plastic is too thin. Just more waste for the landfill.

This is my first LapWorks case. I had previously ordered several different cases for my 10.5” iPad Pro and waited for them to release this one to go with their lanyard. I have no been disappointed! The case, while not offering heavy duty protection, protects your device in a different way by allowing you to secure it with their shoulder strap. I work in the field on foot mapping utility grids, and this case gives the best of all worlds! I can use a shoulder strap, hand strap, or remove the hand strap altogether (if I ever needed to). Quality is VERY good, it’s the sturdiest thin case I’ve ever put on my iPad. It’s obvious that they have spent a lot of time crafting, molding, testing, etc. In the end, you get a very high quality product! I’ll be buying from them more often now that I’ve sampled what they’re capable of with a brand new product.My case was sent without the “travel loop” but I received an email the next day from their COO stating it was being sent to me. I didn’t even have to do a thing! They just already knew!

Very good for one hand holding when lying in bed while typing this review. I can hold the grip handle any way I feel comfortable, not necessarily like the picture. In fact I just stick my thumb into the grip when lying in bed. It has saved my fingers which had been suffering from holding my iPad before I got the case. One point off for the only available black color. Maybe Apple does not allow third party to offer its patented matching colors , unless you give them a cut of profits or pay them a hefty fee,lol.

I am a person who likes my tech accessories. I sample far and wide looking for just the right thing - and as such I found LapWorks, and have purchased several LapWorks iPad cases as devices evolve from one model to the next. I have NEVER been disappointed with their products. This one is no different - the fit is perfect, the handle fully adjustable and convenient, and the stand is a fantastic feature. I also like the small touches - the loop enclosure that holds an Apple Pencil and the tiny pocket on the handle for the cap. Also their customer service is truly remarkable. Questions are answered immediately with a very personal touch. I HIGHLY recommend this product and the vendor.

The handle is unique and separates this product from every other iPad case. It allows you to hold the iPad comfortably, its back flat against the palm and fingers of one hand. It’s like a pallette in your hand. Much, much easier to hold than any other way. Weighs next to nothing. It almost becomes part of your hand. Writing on it with the Pencil feels completely natural. The case and handle are comfortable, durable, extremely light weight, well made and well designed. If you use your iPad a lot, this will make your life easier and more convenient. And — here’s the serendipity — it makes the iPad, an already great product, even better.

Very convenient- good and comfortable design. But plastic material flimsy- mine is broken now. The plastic cant take the constant pressure/weight of the ipad when you insert your hand in the the neoprene grip. The plastic where the neoprene is attached broke within 8 months of use. Nothing untoward or out of the ordinary happened to it- the plastic material used is just not sturdy enough.

This case is the best. very comfortable and easy to grip. not bulky, looks nice, and protects the device. personally I've always liked to put tempered glass on my devices, I like that this case fits just perfect for me to add that little extra protection. The Kick Stand is the fun part of it.
