Holds microphones really well and doesn't make noises when moving the arms
This review is for the NEEWER Microphone Arm Stand, Suspension Boom Scissor Mic Arm Stand with 3/8" to 5/8" Screw and Cable Ties Compatible with Blue Yeti Snowball Yeti X Quadcast, etc. Max Load 3.3lb/1.5kg (White) (White) £28.99 at the time of review. I think this is priced a little high and the white arms and black base an mic holder don’t work for me at all – all white or all black, but that is a personal thing. The whole thing assembles well and it can be securely attached to a desk, even a glass topped one, but for this clamp to work, you have to be able to clamp from underneath the worktop. I would have liked to see included a different way of securing it to a desk using screws, for instance. That might have raised the price further though. It doesn’t have any way of securing it from the side of a flat U shaped desk if the sides are flat to the top with no overhang. The bottom arm swivels around 360o but has no lateral movement on it move it perpendicular to the clamp either which means the existing clamp can’t help there either. Those are the negatives and in practice, this mic stand is really good. The springs don’t make spring noises when the arms are moved or had their angles altered, the base fitting is well made and works well and the included adapter means you can fit almost any type of microphone to it. I tried it with both dynamic and condenser style mics and it held them in place and allowed me to position the mic where I need it to be. You also get 5 velcro straps to tie cables to the arms. I would have preferred it to be all the same colour, and I think it is a little high on price, but even so, 5 stars from me and I am happy to recommend it.

Surprisingly good, budget friendly but small.
I have been using a rode PSA-1 microphone stand for a couple of years now & it's fantastic, but I have my condenser mic on there & wanted to get an arm for a dynamic mic instead of swapping them out. As I bought a white mic, I wanted a white arm & couldn't find any that weren't at this sort of price point, so as I've used Neewer products before & found them good value, I decided to gamble on this. When I opened the box, I thought I'd made a mistake. Next to my PSA-1, this looks like a toy. It's shorter, every metal bit is thinner, it has a lot less reach, you have to undo screws to loosen it to move then tighten them back up again so it will stay in place & the movement isn't smooth. I'm only around 5ft 5" & I have to straighten it up as much as I can if I want to stand when using my mic when it's attached to my desktop, which is 81cm from the ground. Really, it could do with being another 5-10cm higher for me. My mic hangs about 17cm below the end of the arm it's attached to, which might not be true of yours. If you are tall, you may need to think about where you can attach this to get the mic in a good place for you. The last product image gives you accurate dimensions so you can check it will reach where you need it to be from where you are planning to fit it. All that sounds awful, but much to my surprise, I've attached my mic to it & (unlike many cheaper arms have done in the past) it just stayed where I put it. That's a Shure MV-7 White Noir it's just happily holding onto, which is not the lightest mic out there. Also tested it with my Rode NT USB with a pop filter in a shock mount, which has been known to cause cheap arms to sink to the tabletop. Didn't move at all when left overnight, or at any time since in use. There is a bit of wobble when you move it, or if you do something to cause vibrations in the surface it's attached to, so I wouldn't try to do that when recording - especially if you have a condenser mic. So, while honestly, I will end up getting another Rode arm & painting it white (or slipping a white sleeve over it, which I really wish I'd thought of before buying this) because it's just a whole world of better, for the price I've paid to get this Neewer I am impressed & I'll keep using it for now, then probably pass it on to my son. You do get what you pay for & for the price, I think this is worth every penny. I trust it not to dump my Shure on the desktop overnight. For more hobbyist use, for people who really don't want another black microphone arm when nothing else in their workspace is black, or for tight budgets when this sort of purchase isn't a priority, this seems like a surprisingly good choice. I'm not using the black plastic mic holder that came with this & I needed to swap out the black plastic screw with the included metal one to fit my mic, so I have no idea how good they might be, but I expect they are not brilliant - I wouldn't hang my mic off a plastic screw thread. I know you shouldn't pick based on looks alone, but sometimes it's important to you that something looks good & works well enough. If you are looking for a workhorse that will just go on for years & years, growing with your equipment, then this is not the arm for you. For most people, this is a good option to consider, as long as you understand it's limitations.

Easy To Install and To Use With Good Movement
I have a pretty good microphone which has a band type of mount but I didn't like the tripod that it came with and needed extra desk space so this looked like the ideal solution. On arrival, this microphone arm looks well made and for the price it has very good manoeuvrability with springs to help with resistance and to hold the arm steady once in place. After reading the instructions and looking through the parts I realised that the band type of mount doesn't come with it however luckily when I tried the mount that came with my microphone it fitted perfectly. I now have the extra desk space that I desperatly needed and a very easily adjustable and sturdy microphone. The arm can be simply moved from one position to another with just one finger as it feels so light but it will also stay in the position that I place it to. The clamp seems to hold the arm very well on my glass desktop without slipping or moving when I am repositioning the arm. Overall, this is of a decent quality and well priced with easy installation and operation. Recommended.

A much needed mic stand- lightweight and simple design - much easier to use.
I used to use a full body stand which while it did work, I often found the wide base got in the way. This attaches directly to the desk and it is a lot easier to store, not to mention I now no longer have to move a cumbersome freestanding frame every time I need it. Assembly is easy. Worth noting you have to slide the clamp into a slot in the rounded part of the stand before you slot the metal part in. Then everything tightens with one screw. Fairly sturdy. Holds the weight of my old snowball mic easily. Just attach your mic with one of the two attachments, clamp to your desk and you're good to go. At the time of writing the stand costs £29 which is pretty pricy when compared to other stands that sit directly on the desk. That said, the design of the product is vastly better and much more efficient. An excellent product and one I am very pleased with.

TRUST ME IM NOT AN NPC
Trust me this boom arm will be good for you. I’m not some NPC reviewer. There’s only one thing I dislike and that’s the fact the arm moves if you try jog it. But that little detail doesn’t mean anything when you’re not trying to move it lol. Trust me it’s really good

Excellent budget arm, able to hold heavy mics
This is a great boom arm for the money. I use two of these in my bedroom podcast studio (a black and a white one) and they've always been excellent. Although they're rated for up to 1.5kg, they can comfortably hold more than that. I have had a Rode Procaster on mine and currently a Shure SM7b, which both weigh about 1.7kg, you just need to tighten the hand screw and it's completely fine. I think the best thing about them is the clamp, which has a good surface area and fits it to a desk really solidly. It's much better than the budget arm I had before this one and the main reason I switched over. Although it has springs, it is also not noisy if you just use it normally. I never have problems with the springs making any weird reverb or echoes on my desk, even when typing or moving it. Honestly, if you are looking for a mic arm but don't want to go mad with anything silly expensive, this is a great one to look at. You get all the size adapters and bits and bobs you might need to get going and they're just great value.

Good mic arm.
The Neewer desk microphone holder does the job and it's well designed. It is light and sturdy at the same time so I can trust it to put a heavy microphone on it. The rubber attached to the clamp and the bottom of the round base protects against making marks or scratching the table. I used to cut a piece of fabric on my previous microphone holder, it did the job, but looked awful. This is an improvement compared to other models. Fully adjustable, so I can fold it quite close to the desk or away from it, making it suitable for any setup. It comes with a microphone downsize adapter in case of different screw sizes on the base of the mic. I'm happy with the product but next time I would probably go for the black version, to suit the rest of my equipment.

Very sturdy, none of the points have broken down
This microphone stand is excellent value. I have been using this for over a year, and none of the points have broken, it has been very sturdy on the desk. This is definitely the most sturdy clamp compared to the other ones on Amazon
