Over the years I've tried about all the pillows around trying to find that "perfect" pillow, the kind that when I put my head on it sleep will come quickly. My current down pillows have been on their last legs for quite some time, so the search started. Knowing that, for me, down is the best I've found. Of course, the prices of real down has gotten out of hand so I started to search. There's so much out there, but I didn't want anything that I had to air out for days because of off gassing, etc. who wants to put their head on something that the chemicals are so vile that you have to air it out? Wool pillows what an unusual concept, no vats of chemicals or plastics just plain wool from happy sheep in New Zealand. I like that you can remove some of the wool to make the pillow your own. My first night using this pillow was really wonderful, it fluffs, it scrunches, you can mold it to your liking. It did not sleep hot and I found it comfortable without any odor at all or the "wet dog" smell some folks complained about in other reviews. Only time will tell if this wool pillow will continue to meet my needs, for now I'm happy with the purchase. It was a little more expensive then what I would have liked to spend, but it is lasts years the money is well worth it.

The only issue I have with this is the fill density. It starts out a really lofty pillow, raising my head above where it should be. (As other reviewers said, it comes apparently overfilled.) Then after less than a month it has already compacted to below where it should be. That is, if I'm lying on my side, the angle of my neck went from kinked up to kinked down. It was just right for a week or so, but no amount of fluffing is bringing it back to the right height. Too bad for the cost - but now it may just be a body pillow.

I needed a very flat pillow with my firm, memory foam, gel mattress pad. I love that I could remove fill from this pillow to suit my needs. The wool has kept things cool, unlike the synthetic pillows I tried. 100% cotton sheets, 100% cotton mattress pad, 100% cotton pajamas, 100% cotton or wool blankets have given me the most restful sleep possible. If you are peri-menopausal, I cant recommend all natural sleeping materials. You won't regret it. They are harder to find, but well worth the search.

I really liked this pillow. It is made well and what a great idea....Take out the wool that you don't want. Sort-of make your own pillow. And having a natural product for filler which is naturally fire retardant was another great plus for me. No off gases! Unfortunately, I have problems with my neck and wool was just a little to dense no matter how much I took out. Maybe if the wool was combed and fluffed? Thank you for such a great idea and allowing me to try it.

This is a well-made pillow. But I had to make some adjustments on the pillow because it was too hard for me to sleep comfortably with it. But the adjustments were simple as I simply unzipped the side and took out about a third of the lovely clean wool. That made the pillow much more comfortable for me, and I stuffed the extra wool in an old down-filled pillow that had become flat. So I ended up with two comfy pillows. This pillow is amazing! I really wanted something natural, sustainable, and cooling. I got all three, and more!!! It's made by veterans, or the company is owned by veterans, and they're close to Atlanta (where I live), so it's even local! Everyone should support Paragon!!

Using my new wool pillow for the first time. It's firm and plush making it very comfortable. I was only able to smell the wool faintly when I opened up the pillow and put my nose up to it. Otherwise, no scent. I am very happy to buy a healthy, quality product made in America by our veterans.

A little stiff since its new and really stuffed full. I dud not notice any unpleasant smell as others have mentioned and my sense of smell is very sensitive. I may have to unstuff it slightly but I love the fact that when I get the monster night sweats, the pillow does not get sopping wet- one of the reasons I bought it. love it overall.
