Back in college, I used to work in a bike shop that sold low-mid price bicycles. I spent a lot of time assembling and repairing them. Lots of times, lower-end bikes had lots of issues: bent parts, untrue wheels, misaligned brakes, etc. I had never heard of the Royal Baby brand before, but after reading other reviews, I decided to get one for my eight year old son. Of course, when it arrived, I gave it my usual thorough walkthrough. Initially, I noticed that the parts seemed to be good quality. Welds were solid and the finish was perfect.Assembly was just like any other bicycle: pedals, handlebars, seat, accessories. All parts lined up perfectly on the first try. No fighting, no twisting and pulling, none of that. It also comes with some cheap tools to help with assembly, so you don't have to worry about finding a pedal wrench, or the right size metric allen. Once together, I started to look at the mechanics. Tires were very true. There was no noticeable wobble to them, which was abnormal for bikes in the $100-150 range. The brakes were adjusted perfectly. They were centered on the rim and had the perfect amount of pull.Overall, it seems like a quality bike for the price and I am pleased with the purchase.

It arrived a few day late in a beaten up box. One of the reflector was broken and one of the peddles was messed up. My husband replaced and repaired.Thar was from shipping with UPS Not the company's fault. The bike itself if a nice sturdy bike for our 7 year old. * The fenders looked bad so we removes them..Assembly is easy

Awesome bike. There are so many features demonstrating how the design team focused on functionality instead of borrowing the cheapest design like so many companies do. For starters, it comes mostly preassembled. The company already has the major parts put together and took the time to get them straight and properly tightened. You simply pull the bike out of the box, align the handlebars, and insert them into the stem. The brake levers and cables are already installed and adjusted. Then drop in the seat stem. Screw on the pedals, attach the fenders and reflectors, and it's done. The frame is lighter than a BMX bike. The rear wheel has an enclosed disc brake which stops faster. The chain guard is more compact than most to reduce the chance of breaking. The rear fender is mounted to the seat stem so it simply pushes aside rather than breaking if it is accidentally kicked. The kickstand is an unusual design which keeps it out of the way on the back axle. It has a spring lock to keep it engaged until intentionally raised. The company even took the trouble to weld on the base for installing a rear cargo basket. The only oversight is the rear reflector. It is the same type that is mounted on the seat stem of an adult bike, but on a kids bike like this, it isn't visible enough to be safe. But my kid shouldn't be riding in the dark, so it's good enough for us. Not only is it obviously designed with ergonomics and performance in mind, but the high quality components are evident.

I’ve purchased this bike on the positive reviews but to my disappointment, the bike became completely damaged after a single fall by my 7 yr old. When my child fell, it wasn’t even a bad fall as he was not hurt. But when examining the bike, the wheel was completely bent! I didn’t even know this was possible. It was so bent that it touched all of the metal side bars and was no longer able to rotate. When I’ve contacted the company with this issue, as 40 days past purchase and return had closed, they NEVER RESPONDED BACK!! I wanted to know what kind service would be available (wheel replacement, bike replacement, etc) but they completely just ignored my inquiry. I purchase a lot of things for my boys but this had to be one of the worst purchases ever! Quality and service both seems to lack BIG! When your kids safety is at stake, it’s better to get a better quality bike and pay a bit more. The hassle and headache this bike had caused was just too much!

Very happy with this purchase for several reasons! One, the pandemic really made new bikes hard to come by as more people sought out outdoor activities. This is twice as cheap as any of the picked-over stock left in my area. Two, the quality is as good as or better than bikes found at stores like Wal-Mart, Target etc.. Third (and most importantly), my son loves the minimalistic design. He opted not to add most of the stickers that come with it. He dislikes how boys bikes seem to always have some kind of theme (superheroes etc.). He really just wanted something cool and simple. He is in 4th grade, 10 years old, and the 20" bike is absolutely perfect. I should also add my husband assembled in less than 30 minutes and without any issues.

This bike came nearly fully assembled. All you have to do is put the handlebars and pedals on and then some accessories if you want or can install them. It was very easy to assemble those parts.My only gripe is with the seat all the way down, you can’t install the rear LED or the mud flap because there is no room.The bike rides really well straight out of the box and my son loved it. I like the rear brake setup, I’ve never seen an internal brake like that before. Usually it’s an exposed disc or visible pads on the rim but this has a brake drum hub type assembly.When it’s time to pickup the next size up, I would highly consider this brand.
