Simple and It fits. Better than making one!
I noticed my filter was gone. I ordered this one and it fit perfectly. Some people may say it is just a high priced sponge. It is, but it is already formed to what you need. Its worth it to be able to slap it in the housing and get running again. They will last for years. A few bucks every 2 years isnt bad to protect your equipment.

Works-but high priced sponge.
Thus piece fits into my 16 year old blower just dandy. I am sure it will filter just fine. I wonder, however, if I could not have simply cut the shape from a kitchen sponge for pennies on the dollar.
