Does it feel like silk?

In my opinion, the effect of this wallpaper is similar to that of silk. You can have a look at the pictures of the product. These pictures are taken with real wallpaper.

My room is 10ft width and 8ft tall! How many wall papers do I need for the whole 4 walls of my room?

A wall 10ft width and 8ft tall needs about 6 rolls of wallpaper to cover it (one roll of wallpaper is 14 square feet).

will this cover over light green and tan masonite?

0I bought thepale pink and it covered really well. The onlyproblem with it is that it is thin, and tears easier than most contact papers

Is the sheen directional down the length? That is, do you have to be sure to always hang it "right side up" to itself?

Yeah, it makes it look good to post.
