Old Skool Sega Genesis Ac Adapter for Genesis 2 and 3 or Game Gear

Fantastic item. It’s really lightweight but it works. Zero complaints.

Not too much to say here - it works perfectly fine in powering up my Sega Genesis 2. My only complaint, albeit minor, is that the power brick feels too lightweight and cheap for the size it is, but whatever.

I saw reviews that you had to hold cord in for it to work, and I had to also..I was so tempted to return until I opened system and found that there's a common soldering issue. the adapter works perfectly. If you have issues its the system!

As another reviewer mentioned, this adapter is *very* light. The sticker says "Input: 100V-250V 50/60Hz Output: DC 9V 1A". I opened the adapter to see how it's constructed. It's a very simply-constructed AC-DC converter based around an HP1203 which I figure is likely a copy of the ON Semi NCP1203. The older, heavier AC-DC adapters you may be used to have very large transformers in them which are appropriate for stepping down the low frequency of mains power. This adapter is a much more modern design which converts the input AC into DC with high-frequency switching, allowing the transformer to be considerably smaller and lighter. With that out of the way, the construction of the adapter is low cost. Component placement is poor but not dangerous, just ugly. Primary and secondary sides are opto-isolated. Capacitors are aluminum electrolytics from no-name brands (ZSF, WCO, ChengX), so long-term reliability may be a concern if the adapter is somewhere it can heat up with little ventilation. Power supply output is 9.8VDC at no-load, 9.39VDC at 1A load, and 9.08VDC at 1.5A. This adapter should be more than capable of powering a 32X, CD Model 2, or Genesis Model 2.

Did not work for me, fresh out of the box. Cable connecting to the power brick was loose. The brick itself felt lightweight, like there was nothing inside of it (probably because there isn't). Don't waste your time or money. Would give zero stars if I could, because it just straight up did not work.

i tried it on the sega 32x and it's plays good!

This adapter works well with my sega genesis model 2. I recommend this product.

No complaints, basic and solid product. Wiring is a bit thin so be careful with that, but aside from that, you're good.
