SHAPERMINT Shapewear for Women - High-Waisted Shapewear Tummy Control Shorts, Thigh Slimmer, Underwear for Women

I wanted to post an initial review in case anyone like me has events this weekend and is considering buying this. TL; Dr: these shaper shorts are great if you're looking for light compression/support and some smoothing. As a tall plus size woman (5'11", 310lbs, 50-46-56, usually wear a 3x/4x), this item suits my needs to look a bit smoother under clingy dresses, prevent thigh chafing, and provide some abdominal compression for POTS symptoms relief. I have my highschool reunion this weekend and will be wearing a bodycon dress, so I wanted some shaper shorts that would smooth me out a bit without being uncomfortable. The mixed reviews on this item scared me a bit, but so far I'm glad I took a chance. I've been wearing them to work the past couple of days to test them out in case I needed to switch sizes or to another brand. These shaper shorts are surprisingly comfortable for having a decent amount of light-modedate compression. While I'm tall, I'm also quite short-waisted with a long hip/pelvis, and carry most of my weight in my stomach, butt, and upper thighs. The waistband comes all the way up to my bra line, but so far has not rolled down thanks to the fabric quality and small stays strategically placed. The legs are also a great length to not roll on my thick thighs - I'm easily able to adjust them higher or lower depending on the length of my skirt. The fabric is fairly breathable and soft, doesn't irritate my sensitive skin. Other than the very top of the waistband, I can't feel them on after a bit. I'm glad I went with the 4x instead of the 3x. My measurements were on the low end of the 4x, and I decided to opt for comfort over stronger compression. The shorts are quite stretchy, and I imagine someone several inches bigger than me could comfortably wear them. The shorts washed fine in a laundry bag on delicate cycle and didn't shrink too much. I can't speak to their long-term durability and performance, but I will update this review after my events with pictures and final thoughts. Overall, I definitely can recommend these to others looking for similar qualities in shaper shorts. I hope this review helps other tall plus size women as I know how hard it is to find comfortable, flattering clothing for us.

Comfortable and decently easy to get on but it doesn’t have lots of compression. I have lots of loose skin across my tummy area and even though it doesn’t sway or jiggle much with this, it still might be a bit more compressed so all the lumps and waves don’t show as much. Of course if you just want modest compression this is perfect for you. If you’ve got lots of stuff that wiggles, jiggles, or waves, perhaps go with something a bit more heavy. It’s great if you have lumps you don’t want squeezed so much you get nauseous or if you want something that you can wear all day! It’s also ok to wear in summer if you don’t have boiling temperatures and high humidity. Or if you’re inside most of the time. I live in a very hot and very humid area and it’s kind of hot…but then anything not linen or very light cotton is miserable. I can wear this if I streak to the car and then office quickly. I tried to wear it to an early church service outside and kind of melted but if there was a breeze even I would have been fine! It covers all you’d need if you’re apple or pear shaped. I’m really tall and it covered high waist to below mid thigh. Overall I’d recommend it to most folks looking for modest compression and who may not be quite as lumpy as I am. It’s definitely going to be part of my wardrobe! (But there are a few dresses I’m going to have to go to Helga the Corset maker for, the ones with industrial strength spandex and steel boing to keep the wobbly, wavy bits from showing!)

I bought this for post-op compression and wore it once for a couple hours, for that I do not recommend it, as there are (4) 1” pieces of flex-boning at the very top to keep the garment from rolling down, just beneath the elastic that d/t my surgery made it impossible to wear. So why the 4 stars? Well, because when worn as intended, this is superior to every other shapewear garment I have ever tried. Its composition of fabrics makes on/off glide over skin easily without having to break a sweat. I suggest rolling the top, skid up over bum/hips and adjust for comfort at thighs. It holds everything in, feels comfortable. No split in crotch for bathroom which, given high waist might make gowns/garment difficult to get on/off for some. That’s the only reason for -1 star and I’d still chose this over any other body shaper. Can’t tell you how many times my nails have poked through the other brands. That’s not happening w/this one. Might be a tad warm for some.

Only wore these twice. I bought them a little bigger cause I don’t like how tight some brands are and how they roll up my legs. I washed them when I got them, wore them for about 5 hours, put them in the wash, the 2nd time wearing them I noticed they had a hole in the seem of the butt area and had a big run in the back leading to the hole! WTH??? I was loving these until I discovered the run and hole! I mean it won’t be so bad if I had them more than 6 months but I have ONLY had them for less than a month! I will say they are wayyy more comfortable than other brands for-sure!

This really works. I’ve tried several in the past and this was the best one. Really works as promised and it’s very comfortable. I can move around freely and without feeling uncomfortable and not afraid to sit or stand. It smooths everything out and stays put. Really happy with the results

The quality is good, the fit is good but if you are looking for something to pull in your bulges I wouldn’t recommend. That’s not what I was looking for so I don’t have any complaints

I bought these more for smoothness under dresses versus shaping. I bought a small and it’s not tight enough to be shape wear for me. 5’4” 125 pounds, size 2-4. I just wanted to be able to wear dresses without seeing vpl. This is now my holy grail for under dresses. They are comfortable for me but might be less confortable if they were tighter/providing any shape.

I think the quality of this product lives up to the product name. It is well made and a nice neutral color. It smooths out the rolls but its not like all of the rolls just disappear. Other than jumping a bit to try it on the fit wasn't bad. Sadly, the dress I bought it for didn't work out and I realized that there is no way I could pull the back side of the shaper up all of the way if I was alone in a women's restroom. Purchased the 2XL. I'm 5'4" so the backside can go all of the way up to my bra band.

They fit like a dream, they don't roll down, or chafe. Super comfortable while holding in what needs to be held, smoothing your shape nicely. Definitely ordering another pair. Highly recommend.

I love how these don't roll down. I was worried about the material that helps keep it in place, as I have had bad reactions to it. But I can wear this all day, and it was fine. I have been wearing these almost daily since I brought them.

For the price it is what it is and does what it says it will. Temper your expectations because it's not firm or lifting shape wear. This is perfect if you're looking for something to stop chafing and to smooth things out. The tummy (in my case) will still be there, but now the thighs won't chafe and the dress will lay nicer on the body. It will help with rolls but as far as shaping I know there are better products out there. I bought this for a wedding and had no issues with rolling down or riding up from 5-6 hours of wear. Comfortable to sit in and not a huge hassle to take off in the bathroom. However I would compare this more to spandex shorts than shape-wear. If you're looking for something more breathable however for the summer weddings and dress season or you're a sweaty person, I would stick to active wear high rise spandex / biker shorts. As I find those wick sweat and have slightly more compression than these shorts. But if you want something light weight and super high rise these are great for anti chaffing and light smoothing.
