These are especially great during power failures. I ordered extras for family and neighbors.

I bought 8 of these (2 of the advertised 4 packs) - they shipped as 4 boxes of 2 units in each. Which is okay, I just wanted the volume pricing. I selected these because of the COB LED's and the magnetic base. Arrived in good order. The construction is good. The base unscrews easily and the springs and tabs in the battery compartment are strong - batteries lock in place nicely. The base screws back on easily with no hang-ups or cross threading. The base screws on tight and the construction materials appear to be strong. The lantern light slides open to turn on and slides to close to turn off. I put batteries IN ALL 8 LANTERNS and all of them worked perfectly. The sliding of the lamps to open and close is firm and smooth, but not easy...... takes some purpose to open and close - which is fine because it means a good tight fit and potentially more weather proof. When opened the light is extremely bright. You cannot look directly at the light. I have other COB LED lanterns (without the magnetic base) and side-by-side, these from Moobibear are brighter! The magnets on the magnetic base are strong enough to attach perpendicular to a metal surface (tested on my refrigerator) and the magnets are strong enough to hang the lantern upside-down. I tested this with the batteries installed and in the "open" and "closed" positions. The only thing I would like more is to have a "hook" on the bottom that can swing out so I can hang it from a limb or cord. The handles on the top fold upwards but there is no opening or gap to hang, you'd have to use the folded up handles and then attach them to your target with wire or cord. I'm giving away 4 of these as gifts. They are very popular and everyone who sees them wants one. I'll probably buy more. It would be nice if I can get a 10 unit price discount..... I'd buy 10 more if I could. Thank you.

I have only had these for a few days but so far I’m really happy with them! They are super bright & light up the hole room!

There are 3 AMAZING things about this product:(1) The pictures do not do this device justice. This lantern is SUPER bright. I highly recommend wearing sunglasses the first time you open it. If my power goes out, I can open one of these and never know the difference.(2) The lanterns have a great magnetic hold. One picture is the lantern on the fridge and another is the lantern on the breaker box door. The magnetic hold is strong (I'm confident I could walk away for a few hours and the lantern would not drop) but the hold is not to a point where you would have to wrestle it off the fridge.(3) It runs on three Double A batteries! This was a big plus for me - seems like everything uses double A batteries. If the power goes out for a long time and the lanterns ends up needing new batteries, there is a really good chance there is a device with double A batteries near by.

Here in Colorado, we recently had a 24 hour power outage due to extremely Highwinds. These LED lanterns were very, very helpful during this outage. They were bright enough to move around the house and yard comfortably there handles make it easy to carry around unlike a flashlight, or hang if need be. I can’t speak to the battery life, as I have only use this once so far. But I would highly recommend having a set around your house for just such emergencies.

Great for blackouts.I have one on every floor.Just like smoke detectors.( hint hint for everybody).

I used these when the electricity has gone out, they are very bright.

I bought these lanterns for emergencies i.e. power outages and I tested them with regular Ni-MH AA rechargeable AmazonBasics 2000 mAh batteries. They give about 500 lumens as advertised with fully charged batteries. I kept the lantern on and I still had a bit of light after 12 hours. There are however a few cons. The construction is rather crude; the sliding mechanism is a bit hard and the bottom cover doesn't screw on easily. But for the price, about CAD 10.75 each you can't expect perfection. Only time will tell if they are durable but since I will not use them very often and I will not use them for camping or other type of outdoor activity, I will not be able to judge them in that context.

Gave these to my son for Christmas gift and he loves them! Super bright and adjustable how much brightness you want. He really likes the magnetic feature as well. Great buy! He’s happy, I’m happy.

These are incredibly bright. We recently had a power outage and realized 5-6 tea lights in each room doesn’t cut it. One of these easily lights up a 10x10 room. We also bought the rechargeable amazon basics to go with it. We’re extremely pleased with these.
