Sonos SUB MINI BLACK Wireless Subwoofer

compact and powerful subwoofer
The Sonos Sub Mini is a compact and powerful subwoofer designed for small to mid-sized rooms, delivering the signature deep, room-filling bass that Sonos is known for, but in a more accessible and affordable package than the larger Sonos Sub.DesignThe Sub Mini has a sleek, minimalist cylindrical design that complements other Sonos speakers and fits well into modern home setups. Available in matte black or white, it’s compact enough to be discreet, yet stylish enough to stand out as part of your audio system. The compact design is ideal for smaller spaces, where the larger Sonos Sub might feel excessive.Sound QualityDespite its smaller size, the Sub Mini delivers impressive bass depth and clarity, thanks to its dual 6-inch force-canceling woofers. These woofers are placed face-to-face to eliminate unwanted vibrations, so you get clean, thumping bass without any distortion. The Sub Mini is specifically designed to enhance the low end of Sonos soundbars like the Sonos Ray or Beam (Gen 2), or Sonos speakers, by taking on the bass frequencies and letting the main speakers focus on mids and highs, resulting in a balanced, immersive listening experience. It’s excellent for movie soundtracks, gaming, and music genres that demand deep bass.Setup & IntegrationSetting up the Sub Mini is a breeze via the Sonos app, which automatically calibrates the subwoofer to your room’s acoustics. It connects wirelessly to other Sonos devices, making it simple to add to an existing setup without needing to fuss with cables. The Trueplay feature, available on iOS, fine-tunes the sound based on your room’s acoustics, optimizing the bass for any layout.PerformanceThe Sub Mini performs best in smaller or mid-sized rooms, where it can produce a full-bodied bass response that doesn’t overpower the other frequencies. While it doesn’t have the same thunderous impact as the larger Sonos Sub, it still significantly enhances the low end in a way that’s noticeable and enjoyable. For users in larger spaces or those who crave wall-shaking bass, the standard Sonos Sub may be a better choice.Overall VerdictThe Sonos Sub Mini is a solid addition to the Sonos ecosystem, offering rich, deep bass in a compact form factor. It’s perfect for users with small to medium rooms who want to elevate their audio experience without investing in the larger (and pricier) Sonos Sub. Ideal for enhancing the Sonos Beam or Ray, the Sub Mini brings impressive bass in a thoughtfully designed, easy-to-integrate package that’s both accessible and powerful for the size.

Great Value, Tremendous Quality
I have the main bass unit from Sonos for my tv and dvd set up. I wanted a separate system for my cd and radio set up - something I could switch on and off quickly without having to go into the app. So I have two Play 1’s and this mini bass. It’s perfect! It’s a medium sized room and fills the space with bass effortlessly. Setting up was a breeze although it’s the first time I’d tapped the top with my phone as part of the registration process, using the same near-field technology that our credit cards use when tapping terminals with the phone. I didn’t quite believe it had worked as a second or two delay occurred (I have a v old iphone).Since buying the Sonos Boost, all of my Sonos products have linked together and appeared in the Sonos app seemlessly so I mention this to anyone still struggling. The Boost sets up a separate wi-fi circuit for the exclusive use of Sonos stuff and it too works perfectly.Back to the Bass - this is one of the few Sonos products I’d describe as value for money as well as being of the same quality as everything else. You don’t buy Sonos for bargains, but it’s worth mentioning as this unit give the Play 1’s real body and is worth every penny.

Great system
I can only review in whole stars but I'd give it 4.5.It's excellent for adding bass and enchanting clarity as I use it with the Beam Gen 2 and it allows the Beam Gen 2 to focus on everything else except the bass. I also have the IKEA Symfonsynk surrounds too. The audio is totally different and taken to a whole new level and music sounds amazing. Get it for around 300 don't pay more as it drops from time to time to around 300 to 320. It's cinema style sound in your house. It's great for even small areas but it's not about how loud it is but detail. The only way I can describe it is as if you went from black and white to colour.

Game changer
Buy it! This looks and sounds great! I added it to my Sonos Beam (Gen 2) and it adds so much more to the sound and the atmosphere in movies and sports. Well built and very easy to add to your system. As bad is non-directional you can put it almost anywhere in the room and that’s easy being wireless. Great with music too!

Good, but probably not worth the price
So, I already have a Beam and two Sonos 3s as rear speakers for my TV. I’m not an audiophile, but do appreciate good sound in a movie. The Sub Mini has definitely added depth and volume, specifically it did a good job in the gun fight from Heat. That said, for the price, it’s not adding £430 of value. Would I buy again? Probably, as I need a sub and there isn’t really any other option. Just don’t expect your world to be rocked.

Its a game changer!
The media could not be loaded. For about 6 months i had the sonos beam 2 paired with two sonos one SL speakers.the surround sound was amazing and the bass form the beam was just enough that i was happy and didnt need an upgrade but i always felt it was missing abit of UMMFF.The SUB Mini changed that! movies, shows and music feel like they have another layer to them now.theres no buzzing or humming sound from the sub and despite it being alot smaller and more compact compared to others I've seen on the market, it outputs alot of bass that can fill a medium to large room.Best of all, its minimilistic design blends into most living rooms and once connected, its very easy to forget its there.I was really worried that the bass from this sub would be overpowering as some of the reviews on here had hinted but found that it is 100 adjustible through the sonos app. i opted to keeping it at the default level of 0 when browsign the internet and watching youtube videos but turning it up to +6 when watching movies/ listening to music to really feel the thuds and growls on the screen.settings up the device is very simple and if you have already setup a sonos device in the past, its the exact same process. I had mine up and running within 5minutes.Overall, the Sub adds a whole other layer of emersiveness and setting everything up is very simple.
