Review: My new traveling camera! - As a die-hard Nikon Photographer (I'm a former TV News Photojournalist/Commerical Videographer/Producer/Director) now just a full time photographer! After reading many reviews scouring the internet, pixel hunting, came to the conclusion, that the Sony RX10 iv was the best camera for the money. Enjoying it so far, even though there are so many differences between a Nikon menu and a Sony Menu. But the RX10 iv will be my new camera to travel with. I was getting tired of carrying a ton of lenses, several bodies, which now along side a Tenba BYOB10 stuffed in a Northface backpack will be the only thing I'll be using as carry on luggage! Plus I can put other things in my backpack as well as it won't just be for camera gear anymore. Kudos also to Beach Camera for the wonderful and quick service! It was shipped out the same day I bought it and arrived here a couple of days later! Wonderful service! Review: Thank you, but please send me the cleaning cloth. - I did not received the cleaning cloth, other than that Iโm so happy with the product

Very very good camera: Super Zoom with a sharp lens and excellent CMOS detector
The big thing with the RX10-4 is the superzoom (25:1) super sharp lens. Even at full zoom, it produces an excellent image. The CMOS detector is superb for a 1 inch detector with exceedingly fast readout. I have been comparing it with a Sony A6000 both set to the same zoom range. There is clearly a difference in the color balance and saturation. The A6000 takes a better picture in a mixture of sunlight and shade. The sharpness of the focus and image is quite comparable even with the A6000's larger detector. With some adjusting in the very extensive menu system of the RX10, I can get the two cameras to take almost the same picture. Taking a close-up of a rose, the RX10 was superior in detail and color. I bought the RX10 to have a camera with only one lens for all purposes. The RX10-4 fills that need excellently. The downside with the RX10-4 is that you must read the manual - not the one that comes with the camera, but with material available online. This is an extremely capable camera with the ability to recall several preset setups for different situations. The AUTO setting is also quite capable, but it too has menu options worth exploring. At this point I consider myself a beginner with the camera, but still able to produce some really nice pictures, thanks to the manuals (one was a purchased book). Compared to the A6000, this is a heavy somewhat bulky camera. If you can live with the 3 to 1 zoom ratio of the A6000 it is a light compact excellent all around camera with plenty of features. With the RX10-4 you can read the print on a newspaper at a considerable distance, or pick out a bird far away on a branch. The focus speed is outstanding, especially for tracking a moving object - bird or soccer player - plus the RX10-4 has a touch screen that can lock on an object. Image stabilization at all zoom ranges is excellent. I would recommend looking at Ken Rockwell's manual to get started https://kenrockwell.com/sony/rx10-iv-users-guide.htm and perhaps purchasing a book (Photographer's Guide to the Sony DSC-RX10 IV). The Rockwell pamphlet is a must, but the book covers more detail while not as clearly. I have not gotten around to testing the movie capability yet. More when I do.
