Kaplan and Sadock's Pocket Handbook of Psychiatric Drug Treatment

Sometimes people like to see it
A quick, reliable and strong reference, all clinicians should have it at the table. My only suggestion is to mantain in the next edition a structural view of the molecules. Sometimes people like to see it.

Kaplan and Saddock's Pocket Handbook of Psychiatric Drug Treatment
I just received this fifth edition 2011 through Amazon. Book arrives on time. Size is nice for handbag. Not small enough for the white coat pocket. Print and binding is good. I like the pictures of pills and classification of the drugs according to their pharmacological properties. I just wish this book has a little more coverage in pharmacology of drugs. It covers common practice areas in general for a quick guide.A nice book.

Quick reference for psych drugs
Used this on my psychiatry rotation with great success. It has all the information you need to know about the different medications, side effects, and dosing. Would recommend for anyone going into mental health field.

A classic
For the seasoned resident or attending. Less experienced clinician may prefer Stahl's work. Convient usable tables. Some may wish for a spiral bound copy.

Still the standard handbook
Concise, thorough. I'm old-fashioned, though, and miss the detailed TCA charts; I copied the old ones out of the previous edition and pasted them in the new one. Would like to see similar charts for SGA's.
