Dogs, Dogs, Dogs!
After enjoying reading the Luke McCain series I was not surprised by the continued talents of Rob Phillips. I am not a dog owner but certainly enjoyed the great stories. If I were to go around again I would certainly consider having a dog. Thanks again to Rob Phillipsfor much enjoyment in my retirement. Continue onward.

Touching and Entertaininig
Rob Phillips is such a good writer. He writes in simple, very relatable terms and his stories ring true for every dog owner. He takes us through his various hunting dogs, all the way from the frustrating puppy stage to the agonizing end. Each chapter made me reflect on my dogs over the years and laugh at the antics that I did not have the good sense to record. I recommend this book to all bird hunters, but any dog owner will appreciate the love that the book showcases.

Funny, touching, and relatable! Great story teller!
As a dog lover, this book made me laugh and cry on repeat! Dogs lives are unfortunately too short, but they provide so much happiness in their time with us. Each chapter was a reminder of this joy as the author walks you through his life as a dog owner with a growing family! I loved it and had a hard time putting it down. Will definitely be reading it again.

How dogs can positively impact our lives in so many ways...
As I have with reviews of this author's other books, I start out my comments with a disclaimer that I am the brother of Rob Phillips. After crafting four novels in the 'Luke McCain' thriller series, Phillips has penned a non-fiction work that is an homage to all of the faithful dogs in his life thus far. If you enjoy stories about hunting dogs, or having pet family members in general, there's something in this book for you.Of course, I recall most of my brother's dogs, as well as the dogs that were also also such a key part of my childhood. The author shares stories that will humor you, pull at your heart strings, and highlight how dogs can reveal things about us that we wouldn't otherwise be aware. This is a breezy read, as the chapters easily detail the various dogs that have touched the author's life. While the anecdotes are all simply expressed, the relationship Phillips has had with his beautiful pets is clearly multi-layered, and goes well beyond the partnership of sport hunting.Any of us who have experienced the love and faithfulness of a dog can relate to the author's stages of life and how these canine friends significantly impact our personal stories.

Great read.
I raised and hunted Brittany Spaniels in Texas. Many of the anecdotes and little incidents Rob wrote about often brought back memories of like times I had with my Brits.
