Keep your propane bottle at room temperature. It is cold where I am so propane does not work when cold. The Grill Torch is working even upside down. This is an inexpensive item, so you need to take care of it. The problem with reviews is they are made too close to the purchase date. Let us see how well it last over time.

Product ceased to work after one month of use. Return window closed. I’m screwed. Cheaply made obviously. Learn from my mistake, avoid this product like the plague.

Makes starting a fire so much easier & safer...no bending or getting your hand so close to the flame.

My most recent purchase of this torch was for two of them - both had starters that did not light the torches. My solution has been to get a butane cigarette lighter and start or restart the torch with the cigarette lighter. A little dangerous, but so far no problems. I have purchased a total of 5 torches over last 3 years and all had this problem. The paper with the torches advises users on how to rotate the end of the "sparker wire" to solve a problem occurring during rough shipping. Their solution did work for the 2d torch. Ultimately, three have failed due to internal blockage of the propane flow, maybe due to insects or tiny spiders colonizing the small fuel passage. Another problem is how to store a hot torch when done, so it's safe from bugs when it gets cool.

This product works as advertised and that’s a good thing. By using this product, I avoid using lighter fluid when grilling or barbecuing. Thus I don’t use chemical that can cause cancer.

This torch works but if you bump the head on anything it throws the flame off big time. I have had it wide open and the flame be as big as a cigarette lighter. I took the head apart and thankfully was able to fix it somewhat. Do not expect the igniter to last long which that is not a big deal to me. I just strike a lighter and its lit. I would recommend looking elsewhere if you plan to use for burning weeds off of fences or any other extensive projects. I mainly use this to light my gravity fed grill so it does ok for me most of the time.

At first I thought I had a defective tank. Then I thought it might be too windy. Then, well maybe Im hooding it too close to the weeds in my lawn.And then, it dawned on me. The flame nozzle is poorly designed! (like so many Chinese made knock poff products). After eliminating each one of those possible root causes above, I still have to constantly re-ignite while using, very frustrating. And worse, when you get down to about 1/4 tank of propane, the flame becomes weaker and weaker, rendering to rather useless and inefficient. I have gone thru 12 small blue portable propane tanks (lots of weeds on 2 acres), and it's darn right aggravating to have to keep lighting.Bottom line - spend more money and get a good one - if anyone else says it works great, then what you have is a design that is less than robust and a factory quality system that is letting product get past final inspection when it doesn't meet all the design and inspection criteria. I.e., some that work, some that do not....!
