XYLA Original BBQ Sauce, 10 OZ

This is the only barbeque sauce i will use anymore. I tried all the different sauces with somewhat healthy ingredients, and this one is the best. All the others are too sweet or too strong flavor or too thick. Sauce should compliment and season foods, not smother them. I prefer the original flavor rather than the chipotle. I also like the xyla ketchup. I get the best price from a local health food store, and second best price on Amazon by getting the 12 pack.

I bought this BBQ sauce for my husband because of the low carbs. He generally likes a honey BBQ sauce. Unfortunately, he didn't like the taste of this one.

This product just tastes bad to me. It tastes nothing like barbecue sauce.

Very disappointed. Originally purchased one bottle, then was going to purchase another bottle, and the price was hiked up. Unbelievable! I'll make my own. Plus, I purchased a single bottle, but now I can only purchase a minimum of four bottles.

Once Smokin' Joe Jones Barbecue & Dippin' Sauce, a luxuriously mysterious and dark red brown almost black low carb BBQ sauce, became back ordered forever, I tried a bottle of this. It's watery like cheap ketchup and light *orange* in color with a sickly sweetness that reminds me of a greasy spoon diner version of BBQ instead of something earthy. It is almost like a sweet and sour sauce that might work on chicken, but that's not what I'm looking for. If I add a bunch of chili powder it becomes finally edible as a real condiment but the sweetness still dominates, just not in such a bad way. Some might enjoy that flavor actually, but without added chili it tastes like candy frosting that is too thin to conceivably stick to pieces of meat in an oven. The ingredients merely include "spices" and a small amount of paprika. Since it's not at all opaque, I'd say they left out the chili powder and added way too much xylitol in order to live up to the brand name.

I've been making my own barbecue sauce since following a sugar-free diet, but after trying Xyla Original BBQ Sauce, I may never make from scratch again. This one is full of rich barbecue flavor. The consistency is perfect and it tastes equally delicious in dishes or as a side. We love to slice medium-rare ribeye steaks and dip the pieces in a little barbecue sauce, copying a dish from a favored restaurant. With Xyla, we get the product we want without the fuss of preparation. A 2 tablespoon serving has 45 calories and 10 carbs--perfect for the diabetic since sugar alcohols do not act as sugars which raise the insulin level. On a cautionary note, if you are trying to eliminate soy, this product contains soybean oil.
