Tips on Xyla candies helps soothe in a number of medical situations
Hi All,First of all, these experiences are my own. Your mileage may vary (YMMV), and I hope they do meaning I hope you are all in good health. :-) I apologize in advance about the long post. No, I'm not trying to set some world record and I believe this is over the course of at least a year. I have two problems, extreme dry mouth from medication and occasional nausea for the same reason. Worst part is, bacteria love a dry environment, so I was getting multiple cavities (3+) at each visit despite my outstanding oral hygiene. It was all the dry mouth issue. I believe I have gone through 10 tins of the grape Ricochet candy, not to mention at least 4 tins each of the other fruited Ricochet candies. My checkups are now improving.Issues with candy intensity? This may help:So for whatever reason you are trying the Xyla Ricochet Candies for, think of this as far as their flavor goes: it tastes a little like the drink we had as kids (I don't think I can say the product name), but the product's icon is a human-sized pitcher of the drink with a smile on it and it would come bursting through walls singing the product's jingle. :-)So if you made that drink from powder and it was too strong, you just water it down, right? Same here. If the candy you are sucking on gets too intense in flavor, just drink water with it. Don't swallow the candy, but an occasional drink of water will tone down the intensity.Soothing (not curing) Dry Mouth conditions (2 examples/applications of it):1.) My dry mouth issue is pretty bad, I cannot have a conversation without popping at lease one candy from one of the 6 fruited flavors (2 of which I have with me at all times... i switch flavors, but I always have 2 with me). Without it, it feels like cotton gets in my mouth and throat and my throat sticks together and I start coughing. I just keep a few candies in my hand when I see a verbal discussion is about to ensue and pop a candy in whenever the cotton feeling in my mouth starts up again.2.) Finally, I want to share this little tip. My mother took a horrible fall where she ended up in the ICU for 3 days, Brain Trauma Unit for about 10 days, and then an acute rehab facility for at least a month. Outside of the expected medical complaints, her chief complaint was intensely dry mouth. Well it hit me when she got to the Brain Trauma Unit, I had the Ricochet candies with me, I explained to my mother how it helps my dry mouth and offered it to her. She took one and after a minute or two you could see her face and shoulders relaxing. After that, every 15 or 20 minutes, if she was awake, she was asking for another. When I had to drive back home a few days after that, I left her 2 tins of Raspberry, and when I got home, I jumped onto Amazon and ordered 6 tins to be delivered to my parent's house. My father thinks she used it all up while she was in the acute rehab facility. My mother said she would have been so uncomfortable without them because before she tried the first candy she would drink water or finish an ice cube only to feel like it dried out her mouth more. Some medications do that and it sounds like her dry mouth experience was quite intense.By the way, we knew we needed permission from the doctor before giving it to her for the first time. We showed the nurse who showed the doctor what it was and he put it on her chart that it was okay for her to have it. :-)Hope this helps! I just ordered another round of the Xyla Ricochet fruited candies for me.

Best Flavor I have Found
Can't get better flavor from Xylitol. These are small and dissolve fast, but definitely have a burst of tart flavor. So, you may want more than one and there are 100 in a tin. At .5 carbs per each, they are not a problem for carb watchers. I will try the other flavors, with high expectations.Xylitol helps reduce tooth decay and is a great alternative to sugar. However, these have Citric Acid and you don't want to leave that on your teeth all day. I have purchased other Xylitol and Stevia candies, but these are the best.

Sour grape crumbles
I really liked the Xyla Mint candies so I tried these. These are sour until you bite them and they dissolve in your mouth. Strangely, the 1/3 to half of the package that is crumbled upon arrival is sour. I am not a fan of sour grape. But if you are, you might like them, just don't expect them to be something you can suck on for a while.

Not the greatest - but still fun .
These melt quickly in your mouth. The flavor is an intense grape like the Kool Aid we drank as a kid. I don't think I will reorder. I need a slow dissolving mint to help with my dry mouth. These are just a fun thing to use.If they would melt slowly I would be a dedicated fan. But they are just too fast for me. (But flavor is Great!)

STRONG WOMEN'S MAKE UP ODOR
I bought the 6-pack after reading good reviews, but to my disappointment, I had to claim for a refund after trying just a couple. It's got this very strong perfume/make up odor, so much that makes me nauseous just having them in my mouth. I am not sure I just happened to receive a "defective" product. I mean, I like women, and women wearing make up, but not from a candy!I told the amazon rep I would give some of this thing to the girls next door to see if they would wear them. The "scent" was that strong.I tried xlear (berry flavor), and it was pretty good.

The grape are great! Nice and sour.
The grape flavor is great. It's nice and sour, the Xylitol isn't too sweet and it's actually good for your dental health!I liked them so much, I ordered some of the Fruit Punch flavor, but those were a complete disappointment, as they had no real flavor and certainly were not at all sour.Only 4 star, rather than five, because the flavor is strongest on the outside. The sour fades fairly quickly, with the interior not having the same zing. Still nice as a sugar free candy that provides some of that sourness some of us sometimes crave. Each piece is small, so you'll probably want two or three at a time to maximize the flavor.

I LOVE these!!
I'm a huge fan of grape tasting things, and this does not disappoint! My dentist recommended for me to get these and to use one after every meal, and I certainly don't mind!! This is one subscribe and save that I will never cancel! LOVE it!!

Quality has gone downhill!
I purchased this 6 pack in 2012, and I was impressed with them. They were highly compacted powder with a great grape flavor. This latest shipment (Feb. 2013) that I received is like a different product. They are not as compressed now, so basically they fall apart when hitting your tongue. They are not as dark purple as they used to be, probably why they lack some of the grape flavoring now. What a shame that they had to change this product. I will not be reordering unless they can tell me that they are reverting back to the original quality.
