Happy with my purchase. Cost was lower than alternatives and it's well made. Width is perfect for the standard Ooni. I build and launch pies with this wooden peel and rotate/ remove with a metal turning peel. Background- I'm a middle-aged IT nerd who loves pizza and worked at a pizza place in college decades ago. We have an Ooni and a metal peel. Even with my "professional" experience, I still have issues with the dough getting stuck on the peel - toppings fly off or the dough rips. It happens when letting the dough sit on the peel too long. If you build your pie with the dough on one of the metal peels with holes and are not quick, you're in for a mess. Wood helps with this, as your dough can sit longer with less flour before getting stuck, as the wood absorbs some moisture. We have pizza parties where the kids make their own pies, so they sit for a while when we stage them up for cooking. Tip, flour your peel and dough ball with 50/50 mix of your dough flour and semolina. Before you launch with this wooden peel, shake to make sure it's not sticking. Rotate/ remove with a metal turning peel because the lip on this is pretty thick and will be hard to get under a pie. Finish is nice and it's also quite heavy, so I expect to last quite a while. Looks nice enough to also use for cheese and charcuterie.

Nicely designed and durable. My husband makes all our pizzas and he likes this one, saying it works well in our outdoor pizza oven. It has an even surface, cleans well and holds up. Very thick and a good value for the money

This bamboo pizza peel works perfectly with my pizza stone and makes transferring pizzas in and out of the oven easy and stress-free. The surface is smooth and sturdy, and with a little cornmeal or flour, the pizza slides right off without sticking. It feels well-made and lightweight, which makes it comfortable to use. The only downside is the handle is a bit short, so you have to get closer to the oven than I’d prefer when placing or removing the pizza. That said, it still does the job beautifully and performs exactly as it should. Overall, it’s a great peel and a solid value — I’d give it five stars if the handle were just a little longer. Wooden pizza peel is well-constructed, sturdy, and perfect for getting pizzas out of a wood fired oven or grill. The curved lip makes it easy to slide pizzas on and off the peel.

I previously ordered another 12 peel that was 12" on the width, but only 10" on the length of the paddle. So, too much of the dough would hang over at one end or the other and the peel was returned. This paddle is better as the paddle length is only an inch or so short of 12". Although I have a wider pizza peel, my current outdoor oven will accommodate only a 12" peel. I can deal with the paddle being a bit short. I prefer a wood pizza peel for delivery to the oven since the pizza dough is less likely to stick as long as you coat the peel with flour and don't leave the pizza sitting on the peel for too long. For retrieval of the pizza from the oven, I prefer a metal peel since it is much easier to get it under the pizza. Since this pizza peel is made of bamboo wood, I suggest that it is treated with a coating of either mineral oil or a wood oil to prevent drying and cracking. I hope this review was helpful for you.
