Even thought this is pretty straight forward to use, I would suggest to do is to read the instructions right away. Because I have been going back to in person lectures, I needed a device for recording a lectures in my master classes. I wanted something compact and easy to carry around and this device seems to do the trick. The device for the basic features is pretty user friendly. That being said I still would definitely read the instruction manual. The user interface gets easier to use to pretty much straight out of the box with practice. It just has a simple record, play/pause, and save button. Please note you will need to press save to save the recording to your recorder. The device is made of black solid material. Unfortunately this thing can be scratched pretty easily as it was in my bag and there is no carrying case for it. The same goes for the screen. It is just your usual plastic screen and note temper glass. It picks up voices pretty easily so if there is a lecture and you are sitting next to people who are talking it will pick their voice up as well pretty easily. I sat in the back and with the auditorium it was able to pick up his voice and play it back pretty clearly. It also has a built in USB port for transferring. This works great if I need to give my friend the lecture. The device has a simple switch on the side to turn it on and off. The battery life on the device is fairly decent. I was able to do a full day of lectures about eight hours without charging it. If you happen to run out of power you can use it with a battery pack plugged into it if i did run out of power. It uses and comes with a usb for charging purposes. It makes for a great device to have going through school and I definitely would recommend it. One thing I will note is that you do require the room to be pretty quiet so if someone next to your were to start talking during the lecture the microphone will pick it up. The play back on the device is not bad. It is pretty decent sound and you adjust the volume accordingly. Overall this is a good recorder to have if you need lectures or interviews recorded. It can handle a good amount of recording and it is fairly straight forward to use. I would still read the manual to see if there are any additional features you may like.

This recorder works decently, though the sound quality of the built-in speaker isn't great and recordings are best listened to through headphones. I did have a slight issue a few days ago where the battery suddenly died and it seemed as though it wouldn't charge again, but when I plugged it in today, it started charging immediately, so I'm not sure what happened. I personally find the buttons are pretty straight-forward, making it pretty easy to use. I bought it to record EVPs, and it fits perfectly in the carrying case I use for my ghost hunting equipment, without taking up too much space.

This device is not easy to use but it is manageable with lots patience. However, the reason I gave this one star is because I was able to plug this device in and transfer audio files to my computer ONCE (it is MUCH easier to rewind/fast forward on the PC). I’ve tried plugging it in to the four laptops & desktops in my home and it does not show up on any of them. It has been months of trying different solutions and then giving up for a while, to try again and get frustrated all over again. I’m a grad student and need to replay lectures to take important notes and this thing is useless. Save yourself the trouble and buy a different device.

First, I am female. The only reason I mention this is size. If a female is smaller than a male and she has trouble manipulating the unit but for its miniscule size than a male hand would really have trouble. The lettering on the screen is very small. So are they in the instructions where you are prompted to youtub a long string of letters so tiny nearly inlegible. As for the instructions, visually (youtube) or by reading they are a varitable mess. After much time just fiddling on my own I figured out most of the features. This is an indicator I am not all that software inept. The only feature I have yet to figure out is deletion. The instructions on this topic are so awful Im of the thought I'll never figure it out. I was able to charge the unit and plug it into my computer and play back the 7 or so short recordings. It does pick up sound very well with little background noise even when hand held during the recording. The record and pause record buttons are very loud in person and on the recordings. This is ok with me for my use but if you're trying to secretly or quietly record forget about it. Fortunantly my husband is a heavy sleeper otherwise this unit would be useless for my needs. I am recording my husbands sleep apnea. It is severe and he refuses to acknowledge it. His heart is failing because his ego cant grasp he's an issue. This problem keeps me awake all night. But for the fact his snoring, gasping, talking, etc. comforts me because I treasure him and am relieved he is still alive, it also scares the hell out of me when for minutes at a time he doesnt breath at all. So, you can see how important this gadget is to me. As I mentioned I have figured out everything but the delete. After recording 5 sessions a night I put the recordings on my computer and listen to them so I can retain the most informative ones for my husband to listen to. They have been very revealing. Now if only I could erase the recordings that arent informative from the recorder's library, I would have great tool for my husband and his doctor to make a plan. The play back is very good. I held the recorder between 6-12" from my husbands mouth for a minute or two each session. I don't know if the recorder is worth the money as I've no reference point with regards to others. I will keep this product, but for how laborious it has turned out to be to use, the information its gleaning is valuable despite the flaws.

There are several videos for recorders with different memory sizes and makers that closely resemble this. Watch them if you need further help, I did and I finally got it!​ ​The instructions still need revisions or clarifications​. You get a "Recorder Instruction Manual" but you need a magnifying glass to read it. There is a​"BrilliantHouse Voice Recorder Operation Manual." printed on both sides of an 8-1/2"×11" paper so that it can be read easily without my magnifying glass. However it contains selections of information taken from the instruction manual that has been enlarged and randomly placed. Although I could read it, I found myself flipping the paper back and forth which confused me some more. ​The various YouTube videos really helped me. ​ A charging cord is included to charge into the computer​, but not a charging block.​ It comes with ​​earbuds but without soft connectors, just hard plastic for your ears. They are cheap but will be good to have on hand in case I forget my ​comfortable but large headphones.​ ​It comes with a plastic phone connector attachment for recording from a landline telephone hookup with the plastic connection that very few users have. I guess I'll hold on to this--maybe I will need it one day. After watching YouTube, I can operate the recorder and understand the cheat sheet. ​​ For a small portable audio recording device, this ​​BrilliantHouse Voice Recorder ​checks all the boxes and is worth the price.

I bought this digital voice recorder for my daughter. She needed it for school lectures and to work on some projects where she needs to do interviews and then dictate notes with her observations for future reference. It doesn't come with a case, but my daughter put it in a small one to protect it from possible scratches. It has recording, saving, and playing/pausing buttons. It works like a normal recorder with an A-B repeat, fast forward, and rewind functions. The memory capacity is very good, and it's easy to charge and transfer files to the laptop with the USB cable. A unique function is the voice-activated recording since it starts recording when the voice is detected and turns itself off to stand by mode if it stops. It's important to be away from other people talking closely to the recorder if it's a lecture or conference because it would pick up their voices, too. Overall, she's very happy with this voice recorder. It's very easy to use, the recorded voice is very clear with good memory capacity and easy to charge.

This recorder is super lightweight, easy to use, and rather good quality. Out of the box, this unit includes a headset, microphone, Micro-USB cable, and various audio cables. Without even plugging in anything, I hit the record button. I tested a few voice sessions up close and from across the room. I'm really impressed with its ability to pick up audio from across the room. The noise cancelation wasn't great out of the box but I have yet to play with the settings. This thing is so lightweight, that I was afraid of the build quality at first. After playing with it for several minutes, I'm no longer concerned. I think it will hold up pretty well in my pocket for extended periods of time. Overall, this was a great buy and I would get another in the future.
