INCREDIBLE. Great Improvements to the original Boogie Boards!
I have used a small, original Boogie Board for household "to-do lists" for years now and became curious one day if the company made any other versions. This completely went above and beyond my expectations, and I am forever grateful. My brain can't function without lists when I'm at home, because I'm so easily distracted. Between this new board and the OG board I received as a gift maybe 5/6 years ago, I have saved thousands of sheets of paper. I can't recommend this product enough. The stylus is heavy duty, and magnetic; which allows it to seat nicely in the bottom ridge--also heavily magnetized. The different options of backing paper make it super versatile, and the locking feature is a life saver. PLEASE do not rate this product low just because you misinterpreted it to be a pad that is connectable to a computer. That's literally your own fault, not this company's. Reviews have a huge impact on the success or failure of a product and it infuriates me to read unwarranted negative feedback that is essentially just a rant about how little attention-to-detail was paid by that exact reviewer. Boogie Boards are incredible tools for to-do lists, notes to self or to roommates/pet sitters/delivery people/etc. If you're looking for something that is transferable to a computer, or savable in any way other than simply taking a picture of it, this is not the product for you. Thanks!

Pleasantly surprised
I am really surprised at how much I like this black board. It writes really nice and clean, zero delay and no drag marks. It does not mark from your hand resting on it, the pen doesn't need ink, and the pen and board both don't need to charge. The app is really easy to use and organize all of your notes, or ideas. My ONLY gripe is that the spot erase feature is total garbage and just leave huge smudge marks. Seems like this feature would be easy to fix in newer editions 🤞. Definitely worth a try for the money.

Good for quick notes.
You can make quick notes then erase with a touch of a button. The templates are a bit flimsy but easy to use. If you need to take down quick information ( ie from a patient, or a customer order) it works well. Plus saving the info for later reference is easy. I think overall it’s worth the money fir what it does.

gr8 board with minor inconveniences
this board is totally amazing, I use it all the time and its main functions work flawlessly. however, there is a lot of absolutely annoying design choices, for example, the backboard add-ons just disintegrating with mild use and the fact that it A4 papers tend to flex out of the add-on slot. another annoying design quirk is eraser feature, I thought it has a more organic erasing behavior, you know like a regular eraser in a pencil, it is more like dimming the entire board or if not set up properly just creating nasty smudges :C but if u are asking buy or not buy, I say definitely buy

I like it!
Boogie Board devices have progressed "an order of magnitude" since my first Boogie Board purchase, the Jot 4.5 in 2013. Disclaimer: I do not work for Kent Displays and am not affiliated with the company in any capacity. I am a fan of the device and the company but am aware that everyone works differently and that the adage, "Your mileage may vary," does apply. I recently purchase the 8.5 x 11 Blackboard Tablet, the 9th Boogie Board device I own. They are all being used for a specific task, except the first Jot 4.5. The battery died about 15 months ago and is not replaceable on the Jot. Each device has its own "note taking" category for daily use. I have written computer code for over 40 years and have been a runner for over 50 years, hence, these are the first two daily use "note taking" categories. It surely would have been nice to have had a Boogie Board several years ago for those two categories alone! Lots'a paper has been used and trashed over those years. As my BB use has continued, several other use categories have developed over time. Again, mileage may vary, but I suspect that most users will experience expanding usage. The Boogie Board Blackboard Tablet 8.5 x 11 is larger than other devices and my thought is, it should complement the other devices. In fact, the first draft of this review was written on the Blackboard Tablet. The insertable templets are a nice helpful feature. A word about Boogie Board support: First, there has been very little need for support. However, when needed, I have found this part of Kent Displays to be most helpful and professional. Chris is the person (yes, person) I have worked with and I have found him to be very knowledgeable, most helpful and professional! Thank you, Chris. Lastly, my Boogie Board “mileage” has been excellent! I would purchase a Boogie Board again, in a Nano-Heart Beat and probably will! Thank you, Boogie Board.

The way the package lookes like it's a refurb or old item. Which made me lower a star.
The board itself is pretty good. It does what intended. The good: great for what i use it. Which is, math. I used a lot of paper doing equations and the amount of times i spent erasing after a small error was anoying. The bad: the writing isnt that visible. Viewing angles are very weird. You cant have a light straight on it as it crates glares that makes half the board impossible to read and makes your eyes hurt if you try too hard. This issue is very big because i can't take this to classes or the library where you have light from the ceiling staright on the table. Something peaople mentioned and it's true is that the spot erase feature needs tweeking as when you spot earase something it makes the writing which is already hard to seee unless the light hits the board in the perfect spot even more dificult to see. All in all a nice product. Would recommend if you can get the light hit the board in the right spot. Would have been nice to get a case with it :p

Boogie Board Blackboard does not match hype
Received the board. Followed the directions. The print is okay, you can see it fine but not as bright as I thought it would be. Also, the self erase does not work very well. If you follow the directions to calibrate it you can get items to erase but you have to press hard and once the part I wanted erased was done, the rest of the writing on the board also dimed significantly meaning the brightness of the drawing or words that were left were very diminished as well where they were hard to see; the board did this on it's own. The words were there, but much harder to see. I even changed out the battery to see if that made a difference and it didn't. The full erase button worked great, but doesn't help when you only want to erase part of what you wrote. Love the concept of this but this board does not stand up to the hype. Was going to give as Christmas gifts but no longer going with that plan. The manufacturer has to go back to the "blackboard" and really fix this issue before I would consider purchasing again.

Eraser Absolutely Doesn’t Work OVERPRICED.
Clearly the immediate perks from the description is that it’s large, and it has an erase function as well as a lock screen. Well, for the price I’m definitely let down. I expected an awesome new boogie board and got a translucent plexi material with sheets that don’t both slide into the back. The “calibrate” setting absolutely does not work the way it was designed. You can think your picking a setting but really it’s delete it all or dim what you wrote, without a way to brighten it back up. Hard to describe in a review, but the erase is nicer in the advertisement. Doesn’t work in reality. If you want a big tablet for notes with a lock screen, it would make sense. But don’t expect to be able to delete anything.
