Awesome chair and an awesome Brand!
For the longest time, I wanted a "gaming" style chair, but either all options were overpriced, ugly, uncomfortable, or all three, aside from Secretlab (but those are easily 400$+). I was ready to resign my hope and get a standard office chair from Staples. But with several suggestions from the friends I play online with, and a couple of videos watched on youtube as I did my research, I decided to give GTRacing a chance. I couldn't be happier. For reference for this post in regards to height and weight, I'm 5'8 and about 200lbs. Pros: - The chair was easy to assemble, and although recommends two to lift and build it, I was able to do it solo. Directions were super easy to follow once I understood them, and all parts were separately wrapped, labeled, and distinguishable. Its more tedious than difficult, but I'm also new to building things so you may not have any issue and be able to build it way quicker than I did (about an hour). -The packaging was great, and everything came safely despite being over 50lbs and my local FedEx driver beating the heck out of the box. -It is unbelievably comfortable. As someone who suffers from constant back pain from an old injury, this was key. Both pillows are adjustable, and although they have "predetermined" places, you can strap them just about wherever. The lower pillow has already made my back feel better from a few mere minutes sitting in the chair. -The reclining mood + footrest when extended is surprisingly stable, which was also a concern of mine. When not in use, the footrest tucks neatly underneath the seat, which is also a plus. -So much customizability! Everything is adjustable. The armrests, the reclining, the tilting, the pillows. This doesn't even take into account how many different models and cosmetic options GTR offers, there's something for everyone! -It came a day earlier than Amazon's delivery window expected! I live relatively close to where this product was shipped from so that might be why, but it's always nice to get something sooner than you thought you would. Cons: -The leather tends to be a bit noisy when moving, but that's going to happen with any sort of chair, especially with synthetic bonded leather. It's tolerable and may quiet after a while when the leather starts to take your shape. -The armrests can wiggle a bit, it doesn't bother me, but this could potentially annoy some. -Personal Con: I would personally knock off the lettering/branding on the top pillow (but keep it on the lower one) to give it a less busy appearance. Final rating: 9/10. I'm definitely going to recommend this brand to anyone in need of a chair, and especially to those looking for racer/streamer style seats. I think with a few minimal updates and adjustments, this chair could be perfect. The folks at GTRacing definitely know their stuff and care about their brand and customers. I couldn't be happier.

Unbelievable Quality For The Price
This is a fantastic chair. I've had it for a month now. It was very easy to assemble. Took me about 30 minutes or so. And then after that, it was smooth sailing. One of the two complaints I have is that the armrests are not adjustable enough. But that's a niche issue. I have a really crappy table for my pc, and it's really difficult to find the right position for gaming sometimes. Unfortunately, this chair didn't fix that issue, but that's ok. My other complaint is that it took a bit of warming up to before it became comfortable. I had to adjust some things, like neglecting the headrest altogether, and always using a pillow on the chair, because the backrest part of the chair has like very little cushioning. Now, the lumbar support is actually pretty good, although it's not something that I use constantly. I use the lumbar whenever my back starts hurting, and it actually gets the job done pretty well. And then whenever the lumbar starts getting uncomfortable, I just don't use it until I need it again. Other than those things, the chair is pretty comfy. I must say, I don't actually use the footrest that much. It's kinda unnecessary for me. lol But it is pretty comfortable though. I bust out the footrest every now and then. Overall, I've done some long gaming sessions in this chair, work stuff, watching shows/anime, internet surfing, late-night discord calls, you name it. And I am comfortable the whole time. (well almost, I'm a skinny dude with bad back problems, and at the end of the day, they're still back problems. lol) But this chair definitely helps me out a lot. I would totally recommend this to someone who doesn't want to drop $300+ on a chair.

Great arms at least...
For the price, it's fine. There are some things that make this really more of a 3.5 star chair. For one thing, never shown in any of the pics, for obvious reasons, is that in the back where the back attaches to the seat, it had 4 nuts that stand out and look terrible. A simple plastic piece that snaps on would have totally fixed it, but nope. Even using black nuts/bolts in that spot instead of shiny nickle ones would have helped hide things a little, but instead it just makes the chair look unfinished. The seat isn't too bad. It's a little more firm than my previous gaming chair, which was more comfortable for at least a few years before it felt like this, but it's not that bad. The arms are great. SO MUCH BETTER than the arms of so many other chairs. They make those plastic arms adjustable to hide the fact that they just suck. These are padded, look better, and feel WAY better. Now... as far as the included neck support and lumbar support... On their own, they ARE comfortable. However, the neck support may or may not hit you in the right place, and doesn't really adjust much. This will depend on your height, so might be fine. The lumbar cushion doesn't attach at all, and thus falls onto the seat every time you get up. More comfortable than not having it, but too much of a pain to use. As for the footrest, the less said the better. If you are shorter or have short legs, it might work. It doesn't slide in and out easily, though if you used it a lot it will probably loosen up. However it feels like it is just going to tear off the bottom of the chair, and wasn't comfortable to my legs, so I just took it off, which looks better anyway. For the money, it's a fine chair. If you want a really nice chair, you have to pay nice chair prices, so overall I am still happy enough with this one. I am sad to see my old chair go, but this will serve it's purpose fine. I suggest getting one of those gel seat cushions to make it a little more comfortable. For the record I am 6'1" - 210 pounds, so big, not huge. Smaller would be better I think. Still, the arms... man I like these arms so much better! I almost bought a Razer chair until I noticed it has those same arms as so many cheaper chairs, (and I'm sure are all made at the same place, but then Razer slaps a better cover on) so decided to go with this one, and despite it's flaws, I am glad I did. Again, if you want a really nice chair, plan on budgeting at least $500 - $700. If you want an acceptable chair for a lot less money, this one's fine.

Great Chair with Minor Issues
I received this product today (Dec. 11, 2019) and found some cosmetic pieces were broken (shown above in the photo). These pieces aren't technically necessary for the chair to function properly, but I will be contacting the manufacturer about getting *free* replacement parts. Now into the review of the chair. The packaging is so-so. Obviously, if it were packed very well, there would be no broken pieces. There was also a hole in the box from one of the legs of the base of the chair. There are bubble wrap and foam inserts to try and protect everything, and nothing major was damaged, so the packaging did most of its job. The instructions for assembly are quite well laid out. Parts have associated letters to help identify each of the pieces. Everything is straight forward, but it is definitely easier with two people. Even the instructions say "assembly is recommended to be carried out by two people." So grab a friend to help assemble it. Everything lined up quite well. Everything aligned easy enough for the bolts to be screwed in without too much hassle. Some of the leather did get in the way while screwing, but I just kind of push it aside and ended with no issues. Overall it was about 45 minutes total to assemble. Comfort is the big deal here. I am 6'2" and 230 pounds. The chair is roomy and quite comfortable. The padding for the seat is stiff, but should eventually break-in. The lower lumbar pillow is adjustable and feels nice when moved to the right spot. I noticed this chair has made my horrible posture much better than my other chair. The tilt feature works nicely, however, it is stiff and does not easily lean back like my previous chair, even when completely opened up. The recline feature works well, but with the tilt, you can easily fall out of your chair so be careful. While reclined it is comfortable enough that I could probably take a power nap if I wanted especially with the footrest up. My footrest has not had any issues like other reviews. One gripe I have so far is that the armrests are too far apart to be comfortable and easy to use. Being able to adjust them up and down is great, but the variation is negligible. I will raise or lower by about three or four inches at most which is not enough personally. Having to move my elbows really far away from my body is also uncomfortable and tends to ruin my posture, making me lean forward. If they machined the holes for more adjustment when attaching the arms, it probably would have been manageable. Overall, even with the disappointing armrests, I would say the positives outweigh the negatives for this chair pertaining to comfort. Oh, the armrests are rubber as well. Somewhat soft, but I feel I will be investing in some type of attachable cushion for them. Overall, I would say that the price of this chair is fair, and I would give it a four out of five. However, until I receive news about getting replacement parts for the minor damaged pieces, I will leave the review at a two-star and will update it once I hear back from the company if they resolve the issue with the damages. Thank you for reading and I hope this helped. Update: Customer service has contacted me and has offered to replace the entire base of the chair to make things right. Quite excellent customer service. My review score has been updated and I am waiting for the part to come in the mail. 2nd Update: It took me a while to get around to writing the additional update. I received a brand new replacement base for the chair, nothing on it was broken. They hold themselves to their promise. I can now fully recommend this chair, especially after I have broken it in. The cushion is much more comfortable now.

It was alright
I'm about 11 months into owning this chair for general use at my computer, including work editing videos for prolonged hours, as well as some casual gaming in my free time. It's my first "racing/gaming" style computer chair, since I was looking into a new chair at the time and wasn't sure what the hype was about these style chairs were for. Tl;dr: Mostly solid construction, not super comfortable The Pros: -It was pretty relatively easy to assemble, with all the pieces and tools needed to put it together coming in the box. -It's a very solid built chair for the most part. Lots of metal in places where it should be. No worries of it breaking apart in the seat or the chair back. -It's perfect for my height, about 5'5", with the pillow resting at just the right spot for my head. -The lumbar pillow was a bit bulky and hard for the first few months I had it, but once I broke it in and it got softer, I've enjoyed having it on the chair more often. The Cons: -The seat bottom is very flat and a bit firm, and rocking back in the chair in a sitting-up position (like you would do in a normal computer chair) is next to impossible unless you recline the seatback to put more weight in that direction. -The pull out footrest feels a bit like a gimmick that will snap off with enough force, so I pretty much never use it. It's okay when you're laying back all the way, but I almost never lay back fully in this chair. -The ability for the chair to recline back as far as it does is a very nice touch, but I comfortably go back as far as 45 degrees when I'm simply watching videos. I almost never go full 90 degrees since I don't have any place to rest my arms. -I have somewhat broad shoulders, and the edges of the chair dig into my shoulders a bit. The width of the chair's back is more for slimmer people. -Worst offense of all, a few months ago, my chair started lowering on its own after sitting long enough in it. I would repeatedly have to get up and raise the chair to its full height again. I'm sure there are better "racing/gaming" style computer chairs out there, but letting this be my introduction into these chairs felt like a mistake. I wouldn't get this again, nor would I recommend it to others. I'm very likely to just look for a regular computer chair when I go shopping again and get sick of it lowering on me.

Other People Are Too Picky
Listen. Let me give it to you straight: if you have never owned a gaming chair built for long hours of comfort, then this is a fantastic purchase. I can maybe understand why people would get picky over small stuff and overall comfort if they are replacing another nice gaming/office chair, but all in all if you’re just replacing a terribly cheap office chair because your tailbone, back, neck and shoulders have simply had enough aching... then this is an absolute no-brainer. It was very easy to assemble, but since you want to make sure it’s all tightened up and sturdy and you don’t miss anything it did take me about 30mins. As far as comfort, coming from a regular $50 office chair that was 4yrs old, this thing feels amazing. I can tell that the seat itself will contour and soften up a bit over time, but that there’s enough cushioning it won’t flatten into nothing. So for now it’s a tiny stiff but you have to know you’re breaking in a “leather” covered cushion. I saw complaints on other chairs and maybe even this one that the arms are wobbly? Wrong. Plenty sturdy, barely wobble, only thing I want is for them to be cushioned too, but you can buy something for that cheap to make this great chair even better. Now let me mention the support... wow. It’s incredible. I can instantly adjust the lumbar and neck pillows to feel locked in and my posture feels so nice. I am a sloucher and have a very bad neck problem, U have to see a chiro once a week but honestly with this simple purchase I might only be needing to go once a month soon. The amount that would save me alone would be massively worth the money doled out for this chair. I am such a stubborn typical male who didnt want to spend $$ to live better and refused to accept my office situation was a detriment to my life and health. I’m telling you guys straight up- if you are on the edge just because $150-200 sounds like a lot- you are so stubborn! The next thing I am investing in now is a new T&N or Purple mattress. After getting a chair like this you immediately realize how priceless comfort is. It reduces pain, stress and makes your life all around healthier and more positive. I suspect many people viewing these products are in the same boat I was and I’m telling you: do not listen to these overly picky reviews! Get yourself some comfort and enjoy your life- you’re not going to regret it!

Looks more comfortable than it actually is
Edit: I have come to the conclusion, after owning this chair for a few weeks, that it's the most uncomfortable chair I've ever bought. My old, worn-out, sixty-nine dollar chair is more comfortable. I'm going to put this pain-in-my-arse piece of junk on sale, cheap. Some people seem to love this chair. I tried to. It didn't work. I bought this GT Racing 901 gaming chair after reading the reviews, most of which were very good. While, for the most part, it is a well-built chair, it's not all that comfortable. The chair back reclines to almost flat (170°), which is a nice feature, and along with the footrest make what would appear to be a great chair to nap in. The problem with that is that the footrest is small and doesn't extend out far enough to be comfortable. Plus, the lumbar support is like rock poking in your back when lying down. The footrest also feels rather flimsy, like it could break off if extended out any farther. To be honest, my old, worn-out gaming chair is more comfortable at this point, but I've only had this chair for a few weeks and it may not be broken in yet. It' seems to have gotten more comfortable than it was when it was new, but that may be just me getting used to the chair. The armrests are a disappointment because I thought they rotated so you could adjust the angle, but these armrests only adjust vertically. The armrests themselves are made of some kind of hard, textured plastic and seem durable enough but not very comfortable. The side-bolstering on the sides of the seat is hard and uncomfortable. Overall I would not recommend this chair to anyone and I would never buy it again. Save your money.

In depth review. Updated after three years
So this is preliminary, I got it about thirty minutes ago but assembly was super quick. I was tired of reading all the mixed up comments on all the different chairs so I decided to jump on the 901 or whatever the big and tall one is. I ordered it about five days ago, so the delivery was top notch. (Free shipping option.) It can be assembled with just a 5mm Allen key which they include, but with all the reviews saying the armrests we’re backing out I decided to send them to Jesus with a 1/2 socket. The smell is definitely there but about ten minutes later I can’t smell it unless my beak is on the chair. The quality of packing material was overwhelming, I don’t know how anyone got the chair damaged unless they damaged it during assembly. It does lean forward a bit after assembly but there is a knob under the chair to adjust the angle. The neck pillow is a little low for my taste but I am 6’ tall. It sits just above the top of my shoulders. One review I agree with is the outside of my thighs touch the weird things at the bottom of the seat and for people with thick thighs I can see this being uncomfortable. The footrest feels a little flimsy but the more I use it the more I trust it. Just want to note that if you’re gonna lean back and use the foot rest make sure the seat is locked or you will go so far back you’ll freak out like I did. Lol The wheels roll smooth as butter but the construction feels cheap so I went ahead and ordered the ones that look like roller skate wheels. To sum it up first look and feels like it’s a good chair for the price. I’ll update down the road but I think it’s money well spent so far. Edit: So I’ve had this chair for almost four years. It’s taken a beating but the plastic hasn’t worn out, the coushin is… acceptable still. Lol better than wood. I’ve still got the roller skate casters on it which are nice. 10/10 would buy again!
