I loved every single minute of it from the heart melting love between Alessio and Ayla to the devastating moments that took my breath away. This story completely wrecked me. So many hidden secrets and lies are revealed that will leave you gasping for air.“The darkness never truly leaves you. It’s always there, waiting for the right moment to strike.”The. Freaking. King is back and taking no prisoners, all will pay the price. I love Alessio so hard. We get to see a softer side to him in this book but don’t worry his monster makes an appearance as well. I actually love all the men in this book with the exception of one. If I could do physical harm to one fictional character it would be to he who shall not be named. Alessio will get his revenge and vengeance and I will enjoy every bloody second of it.“Bloodshed. War. We were all going to bathe in blood until one family would be left standing.”Ayla has finally found her happiness, freedom and love she deserves. But she still carries a secret that could destroy it all and the guilt consumes her. In the beginning of this book we get to witness the growth of her and Alessio’s love and it is fierce and beautiful. Just when my heart is content it was ripped from my chest when the unthinkable happens. I was definitely surprised the story so bravely went the direction it did.“I had just found my heart; I wasn’t ready to lose it....How does someone live without her heart?”This story gutted me over and over and the end broke me further then I imagined possible. I’m hopelessly in need book 3. I need more Alessio and Ayla. Who will pay? Who’s blood will be spilled? Will everyone get what they deserve? I cannot wait to find out.“Death. The monster roared, and this time I unleashed it. I embraced the darkness inside of me. Because this was war.”

This book is my all time favorite (including part 1 and 3) and I was so excited to finally have a real copy of it. I've read this book so many times and probably will continue to reread it. I have no issues with the book but I have one issue with the packaging. When I received the book, the front cover was bent at the corner, but when I received the other parts, they were nice and straight. I don't know why it was sent separately than the rest. Also, when I opened the book to examine the pages, a few of them were bent as well. I received this book a few weeks ago and the creases are still not out. It might sound like I'm complaining about nothing but for someone who really treasures things like this(especially since it is my favorite book) I was a bit bummed that it was not packaged well. Anyway, I love the book and would definitely recommend. Disclaimer: This 3 part book is really graphic and triggering so it may not be for everyone.

So this one wasn't necessary for me.. Maybe it was a tad to much for me.There were a lot of horrible things that I can't stand. I avoid reading about those, I can handle it if it's just mentioned but when we get to read it all... Then I see red and I feel like I want to hurt someone.. If it could be the person who does it but that can't.. So for me that was a no no no.When we got to see who the betrayer was I was so mad I wanted to jump in the book and kill em myself..So for me this one was a hard one to read

This second installment was much better than the first, it was non-stop action from thee get go. We went from Alessio and Arya finally being happy together since she is getting over some of her past issues. To her finally wanting to reveal her secrets to him about who she really is. Then everything falls apart when her ex-fiancé finds her and takes her into hiding.Alessio can’t find her and knows the kind of torture she must be enduring as he searches. He is still trying to find the traitor in his camp as well. So good and so much action and suspense.

Alessio may be a monster, but a monster is exactly what was needed for this story. I love to see Ayla bring out the "monster" in him when it comes to her well being. This was dark and scary. It was a hard read, but one that needed to be done. This is one of the stories you have to see to the end, in order to get the relief of the deep breath you've been holding. This book challenges you to go through the fire with both Alessio and Ayla and it doesn't let up. The house of Ivanshov is a force to be reckoned with and you will feel their power.

This is a fantastic addition to the series. It is a continuation from the first book. Alessio and Ayla seem to have found what they've been looking for in each other but things aren't what they seem or appear. This is a dark and intense read that'll have you on edge. It's got action, twists and turns. A story that unravels lies, betrayal, revenge, love and so much more.

This is The Mafia and His Angel:part 2 of the Tainted Hearts series written by Lylah James. This is a dark series and has some really hard parts to get through, but the love story....the love story is all consuming. You will bleed for Ayla and Alessio. I need...I need...well hell. I need the next book STAT!!

Wow, just wow. This book had my heart pounding at times and then shattering into pieces. It was as if I felt all of Ayla's emotions as she did. Such an emotional read. I loved the different characters point of views. I cannot even begin to put in words how dark and beautiful this story is. It pains me to not know what is going to happen next. I will be waiting not so patiently for the next one. This series is hands down the best I've ever read, and I've read so many.

Lylah's idea of using the motif of "blue to green" really helps build the passion and love between Ayla and Alessio. Great idea on Lylah's part. No matter how many times I read this book, I end up broken and in tears, Lylah's writing is truly inspirational.The pain in my heart when Alessio was broken because Ayla was taken, shattered me into millions of pieces and when she was found but void of emotion, it shattered even more. My world lit up and the feeling of hope and happiness skyrocketed when Alessio had her back in his protection. You feel everything that the characters feel and to write like that is a talent.I loved the way Lylah hints to the reader that Nikolay was the traitor (part 1) but now it comes to an absolute surprise that it wasn't him... it was Arthur. I remember reading it when it was on Wattpad, I was about to throw my phone to the floor with anger because he was the love and joy of Maddie's life. Damn, I'm really emotionally involved in this book.You wouldn’t believe how badly I wanted to slice Alberto’s throat just for him to drown in his own blood. My heart goes out for Ayla for staying strong and standing up to Alberto... I wanted to strangle him, make him hurt and make him cry just like he did to Ayla. *deep breaths* Only this book can make me this angry... my Lord.I shall keep these books until the day I die, it will go to the grave with me...You won't regret reading this book... trust me.ARC was kindly provided by the wonderful Queen Lylah.PS: I’d suggest a box of tissues ;)- Kailey

Although the majority of the story is centred around our favourite ship, Aylessio (Ayla and Alessio), their story is not the only story that is told. Our other favourite Russians have their own spotlight as well as their own trails and challenges, they experience their own heartbreaks and triumphs.Part 2 shows us the dark side of the war between the two families and the people of either side… James shows us the ruthlessness that gave Alessio his reputation. It’s a gory story of a man in love, that spends so much time trying to convince himself that Ayla, this incredibly sweet broken woman that appeared out of nowhere and somehow managed to slip past his defences and find a place in his so called cold heart, means nothing. However, it’s not only Alessio that turns dark; it seems that Ayla wasn’t only his shining light in the dark but also to our other beloved Russians. After all there’s truth behind the saying ‘you don’t know what you have until it’s gone’James doesn’t sugar coat or brush over certain situations and she certainly doesn’t skimp on the details. She knows just how to tug at our heart strings and play with our emotions with this brilliantly written and well implemented plotline.Lylah James creation is a masterpiece full to the brim of tears, drama, blood and gore, betrayal and most of all… devotion.The plot twists are like a punch to the gut but they only further the drama and excitement. Then there’s the cliff-hanger ending that leaves you on the edge of your seat craving more.All I can say is not only am I already rereading part 1 and part 2 for the 20th time (Which only took a couple of hours for part 2- I just couldn’t out it down) but I can safely say that the countdown for part 3 has begun even though it’s a bit premature…

I voluntarily accepted an ARC of this book and this is my review.*Spoiler FREE*OH. MY. GOD. (In an imitation of Janice from Friends). Lylah James is terrible for my heart, it was pounding so hard and I was on edge the whole way through just waiting for the penny to drop. I was bloody terrified.This story has a little bit of everything, thrill, fear, blood, hot sex and a dose of sweetness just to mix it all up. What a ride this was. I gasped, laughed, smirked and cried while reading this story.Plenty of action and whole bunch of twists and plot turns I never saw coming. Se if you can figure it out. I wonder if you will? I watch a ton of crime and criminal psychology dramas so I suspected how one of those would go and totally nailed it! Although predictable it was not. See if you can spot the red herring.Is it wrong to wish pain and death on a character? Not when you've met the slimy git, I am rubbing my hands together at thought of him getting his. Oh, yes. 😈Lylah James rendered me near speechless when I finished all I could do was sit there gaping with tears running down my face. HOLY HELL CAN THIS WOMAN WRITE!Now I'm done and I don't know what to do with myself. I need more words damn it! I finished this book in a single sitting, I could not and would not put it down. If you loved the first one you better get your one-click on because this is not to be missed!

I don't think I can wait one whole week until the release of Part 3!!!! Lylah James you have done it again!Part 1 of the series had me falling in love with Alessio and Ayla, hooked onto their lives, their emotions and feeling like I was right there in the center of all the drama! I had to finish both books in one sitting because every time I put the book down all I could think about was what happened next!Ayla's character will absolutely shatter your heart, make you cry as you feel every happineds she experienced but also the pain she feels after. She's broken beyond repair but her strength comes through every time as she holds on to her love for AlessioI will provide no spoilers but if you've read Part One you will LOVE Part 2! The cliffhanger ending is driving me crazy!!! 21st November is too far away!

Just amazing this book was a wind whirl of emotions but so worth it I so can't wait for book 3 was so gripping tainted hearts is a fantastic trilogy and a amazingly written Lylah please hurry with number 3
