This is my first mining rig and so far I'm having a lot of fun with the whole thing
Received my third GTX 1070 this morning. Can't wait to get home and get it in the rig. I bought two of these a couple of weeks ago for GPU mining Ethereum - I'm hashing at just over 31MH/s on both cards, though GPU0 (the one on top) is running about 10deg hotter due to drawing hot air from the back of GPU1. Now that the third one has arrived I will be taking them out of the case and mounting them on the PCI-E risers that I purchased, hopefully allowing all three to run at just above 31MH/s, ~51deg and at about 70% power consumption. This is my first mining rig and so far I'm having a lot of fun with the whole thing. Very good cards for mining, it seems. However, the price is increasing rapidly - I purchased the first two for ~£399.

Brilliant graphic card
Brilliant graphic card. Been able to throw any game at it and can run it at over 100fps on ultra at 1080p. Runs silently which is good but because of that runs a little hotter than other 1070's but nothing to be worried about. Beautiful white design if your looking to colour match your pc. Wish it came with a back plate cause if it did i would give 5 stars.

Excellent Oculus Rift performance.
Along with my Core i7 4790k (4.4ghz) this runs my Oculus Rift beautifully. And I haven’t even overclocked it yet! This has no led rgb lighting frills. And I was a little disappointed that it has no back plate. But the performance more than makes up for it. Not noisy under load, cools itself quite well. Enjoying pixel density at 2.0 for the first time in a lot of titles. And Elite Dangerous is incredible with HMD quality at 2.0!

Great card. I bought this in May 2017 for ...
Great card. I bought this in May 2017 for £387 so at the time £ per FPS was great value for money but unfortunately bitcoin miners have inflated the price would not recommended paying more than £400. There is coil whine but that is how you know you card is new and will stop after a month or two. only negitavite is because there are 2 fans instead of 3 the card is louder.

Weak Design Graphics Card
This graphics card design is a joke, I got this weeks ago, and installed it with SLI settings, after a few week (about 2 weeks), suddenly a ticking/cracking sound appear and I forced my PC to shut down. I open my PC case and saw 2 fan blade has been detached, and I realize this card fan design is much higher than the usual graphics card design, which is not possible to install 2 same graphics card in one PC, the fan was knocking one of the chipset screws behind the graphics card. This is a serious design flaw, ASUS please stop this production. I have attached the image.

Returned it
Ideally, seeing as it's 2017, things like graphics cards should play nice with all systems out there but I don't blame nVidia, or anyone, for this card not really working. My current system is a 6800k, 980 GTX, lots of ram, with an LSI raid card running 4x Samsung SSDs in raid 0. Seeing as I edit video I need things to work. Un-installed the 980 driver, removed the 980, slotted the 1070 in and pressed the power button. The screen appeared, which is always a good sign, but the LSI raid card stalled at detecting the drives/firmware process. Dammit. Now... do you spend ages messing around or do you admit defeat and call it a day? I did change pcie slots, still the same, but decided to return the 1070 as I needed the system to work and work as intended. Really, really odd but these things happen. Shame.

A Capable Beast not to Be Underestimated...
Initially, I had a big dilemma on whether to go with a 1070 or 1080, but now that I've got a 1070, I already feel that my PC's graphical power is more than sufficient. A GTX 1070 is the way to go if you want to save more than £150 on your PC Build. Edit: I realized GPU Prices have dramatically increased; just for reference, I had purchased this card for £380 at the time (28 Oct 2017). It really is unfortunate to see crazy prices being labelled on such products... Its been 4 months now, still going strong, and exceptional performance (able to run games on Ultra Settings 1080p on solid 60 fps - such as Witcher 3, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Overwatch...)

Avoid if possible
Asus has always been a favourite of mine as they make excellent motherboards and I associate their name with rock solid stability. This particular series of cards, unfortunately, have a number of issues. 1. They have micron memory, susceptible to the micron memory problem. 2. The first card I got was a complete dud, crashing my system as soon as it got over 75C. And had horrible coil whine. 3. Amazon exchanged it for me and gave me another one, only to have this one have worse coil whine and also much louder fans. 4. Overall, if you want a small card, this is it. But it's neither fast nor very good. Both of the cards I got had major production issues and were basically unusable. I have now returned the cards and got an EVGA card, which works well and looks to be much better quality!

Just installed the GTX 1070. Was a little dusty out of the box but I just used my air can to clean it. It was in original box with original plastic cover. Also had the cd (didn’t need but was pleased it was there). worked as expected, posting update if something happens.

Cosa dire?
