Large British Unique Recycled All Wool Blanket/Picnic Rug by Tweedmill

Really pleased with these blankets, the quality versus price is outstanding. Yes, it may feel slightly itchy until the blanket softens over time, but this a 100% wool blanket and it's a sure sign of weave quality. This could make an excellent bed cover, but for me, it's a camping blanket, to go over a sleeping bag as part of a layering system. To that end, it excels, because 100% wool, even recycled, retains warmth even when damp. It's quality, and TBH, at half the price of virgin wool, whilst retaining 99% functionality 'in the field' it's an absolute steal. The only risk is random colours...but given what I need this for, interior styling is not my priority! Strongly recommended 👌

Love these blankets, Use in the back of cars to protect the seats from mud and things. Fold the blanket in quarters for the dog to use as a casual bed on floor. Great quality and wash well.

Lovely warm blanket, reminds me of the blankets my grandma used to pile on the beds in winter. It's 100% recycled wool, so don't be expecting fleecy softness or smoothness, think of a tweed coat, it's that kind of wool. Very cosy and in random fibre colours. 5 stars 10/10

Good value for money blanket. Mine was lovely autumnal colours and I wanted to keep it. The only problem I had was I’d ordered the 180 x 150 blanket for the extra £7. The smaller 120 x 150 blanket arrived. This was resolved by Amazon refunding me the difference save having to return it and re-order.

Bear with me - I had inherited several Earlys of Witney pure wool blankets, a many centuries old and formerly the best blanket mill in the country or the world, and in my ingnorance had thrown them away, thinking them, oh the stupidity, a little scratchy. Having kept one of them I soon realised how lovely pure wool blankets are, one never gets too hot with them and they insulate perfectly and last for over a century if my family’s are anything to go by. So when I saw these blankets, I had hope my idiocy could be amended. The blanket is beautiful and looks stylish and extremely cosy and homely. It feels just like the Earlys of Witney blankets, washes the same, ie well on a cool wool wash with lots of fabric conditioner and soap nuts. We all admire it and prefer it to a goose down duvet, as one simply doesn’t over heat, it is light and has a comforting and soothing olde worlde charm. It’s rather decorative and I intend to buy more for fireside sofas and chairs to bring an atmosphere of hygge during the winter months. The dog also has covetous eyes on it. It’s a beautiful thing.

This is my 5th blanket from Tweedmill. These pure wool blankets are lightweight, slightly rough to the touch against bare skin yet very warm, probably due to trapping air between the wool fibres giving a good level of insulation. I use them as additional bedding in the winter above our normal duvets. They add very little weight but the additional warmth is very evident and, if too warm, we can roll them back during the night. I use them for camping too and pop them between my sleeping bag and liner where they convert a 3-season sleeping bag into 4 seasons with the additional warmth. More recently, I've started doing similar with them in our campervans ie fastening the blankets to our duvets then popping them inside the normal duvet cover and this greatly adds to their warmth over the chillier months. I like the principle of recycling wool into these blankets with each being of a unique design. They also offer excellent value and I'm sure my 5th blanket won't be my last!

Does the trick and helped keep me warm while camping - the pattern on the one I received is also very nice and as a result when it's not tied to the bottom of my rucksack or being used in a tent I now keep it on my sofa. It's always nice to find something made in Britain, especially at this price point. I had hoped that it would be a bit thicker, but for the price I don't think that would be a reasonable expectation.

This is a great 100% wool blanket & perfect for outdoor use. Wool is the best choice for outdoors, still keeps you warm round a campfire even if it gets a little wet & won’t burn. Great value for money and nice and big :)
