This lock is great for a few reasons. I took this travelling with me and at the very least it gave me confidence and peace of mind which is well worth it during stressful times and at best it meant I woke up with all my belonging still intact. I used sleeper trains when I was in Thailand and this link-lock meant that I could safely attach my backpack to the bed rail and get a good sleep without worrying my bag might be snatched. This also doubled as an ordinary padlock for me several times when I couldn't find my other padlock to secure the main zipped compartment of my bag which is good not only to avoid belongings being stolen but also to prevent people using your bag as means for smuggling contraband. This 2 in 1 functionality gave me 1 less thing to worry about in pontentially unsettling circumstances. It also meant that in an emergency I could temporarily abandon my luggage by attaching it to a post or bike rack with some level of security. The materials used also seem robust and reliable and I would happily recommend this product.

Advantages: no keys, can use on large backpack, can use on personal items in hotel room, can use as a simple lock without the cordDisadvantages: only three number combination ~can be opened in tewn minutes like any otherThis item was perfect for securing my large 65litre backpack for the plane and foreign airport. It was also great in the hotel room for securing my backpack and bags to furniture. Compared with buying more expensive straps and chain bags for extortionate amounts and attracting attension, this discreet all-purpose lock was great

I used this when I went on holiday alone with my young daughter. I wouldn’t normally worry about locking my bag up by the pool, but I just wanted everything to run smoothly whilst on holiday, so did it for peace of mind. So would lock my bag and use the metal wire to go around the sun bed. It worked well… could also be used by the beach in the same way, or to tie things to a pram, etc. wire has a nice length.Only downside is that it is sometimes a bit fiddly… like it’s not clicking properly into place.

It locks well enough, but scarcely protects in intent.

Tough little lock , easy to use , not too fiddly , did the job really well and i am happy with my purchase!I used this as a Tent lock at a festival and it worked a treat

Mmmm a bit of a struggle to lock it and some times it looked locked and I pulled to check and it all came apart.. i have used it and in a tight spot I would use it but I won't go too far from my ruck sack or kit

So, two problems with this.I found it rather easy to accidentally change the code while locking things together - managed to do it more than once.As a result, I found myself having to break into the lock...What I then realized was...well, 3 digit combinations are not a lot of use if you want to leave an item unattended for more than a a couple of minutes. Start at 000 and enter codes at approximately 2 a second. If the code was set at 999 it will take you abut 9 minutes. Makes you wonder why 3 digit locks are popular - surely the 4th digit can't cost much more, and makes a massive difference in ease of breaking in.

I needed a padlock to secure my rucksack when travelling around India. Not only was it good for securing the rucksack in place, but I was able to also secure the pockets to my rucksack when checking in on flights.
