Incredible quality and fit and finish freewheel rim brake wheels for upgrading an old iso630 bike
These are phenomenal replacement wheels. They were DEAD true out of the box with good equal spoke tension according to my park tool spoke tension gauge. I prefer Schrader valves and the through-holes are big enough to not need presta. They honestly seem well made enough that you might even be able to get away with tubeless if you switched rim tape. The braking surface is perfectly machined. The hubs are smooth and free ball bearing packed with good grease packing out of the box - i prefer cartridge but for the price I seriously cant complain, and it does make them incredibly easy to service. They're incredibly smooth and quiet. You will probably need your own axles, the one from my bike didn't match the threads on the bearing caps of these wheels, and these axles it came with are solid, not thru-axle. So budget in maybe needing a new $10 axle and spacer kit. I started trying to restore my old 80s schwinn traveler and was wondering why 700c tires just did not fit. Turns out some psychopaths in Japan back then decided to create a new wheel size called iso 630. 8mm bigger than Normal 700c wheels. And good tires just do not exist for iso 630. So I figured that maybe I could get away with a 700c wheel since it's only reducing the radius mm. Ordered these and hoped my brake calipers could reach the extra bit and still have the pads touch the rim. I got lucky and the old Dia compe caliper brakes at almost max extension fit perfectly. Fitting a freewheel was easy and smooth, upgrading to a 7 speed with a big climbing gear since I have friction shifters made me get a little creative with the spacers, bolts and washers, but I was able to center it fully in the rear triangle with enough room for the smallest gear. I had to order a replacement thru axle body since the included one was not a thru axle for quick release skewers. You could have bolt-on axles, but just test your old axle and see if the threads match. Remember when you are installing an axle, 1.) be careful to not let any bearings fall out, and 2.) leave a TINY bit of play in it, the act of tightening the skewer will absorb about 0.5-1mm play. So if it's tight off the fork, it'll bind up on the fork. Hubs front and rear are a tiny bit wider than my old iso630 ones. I could have laced the old hubs on the new wheels but I really did not want to. They fit the fork without having the stacked jam nuts, and the rear as well needed some creative combination of washers and spacers. But with the new axle kit, the axle the wheels come with, and my old axle, I had pieces to cobble a good fit together. Nice thing about steel bikes is you can ask them to flex a millimeter or two. Tires were nice and easy to mount, and now the bike I've had for 17 years I can finally get tires for. And the side benefit is I now have a extra 4mm vertical clearance for a bigger tire. Overall the value is just unbelievable. I did need to buy a generic through axle kit because my old wheel axle threads didn't match and these don't come with axles that can use quick release skewers, and because of my old weird bike standards I had to experiment with the spacers and washers - you can get a spacer kit on amazon too if you need though. The only thing I don't love is the black paint, the wheel style just looks a little cheap to me, even though the finish of the paint is great. But if you need some basic functional rim brake 700c freewheel wheels (freewheel means the cassette screws onto the hub instead of just being a stack of cogs, and the freewheel has the moving 1 way components in it so the wheel hub only has bearings and the axle, not the ratcheting gear, so internally it's very simple.) I literally can't find a complaint that isn't far more than addressed by the price and fit and finish.

Replacement bike wheels.
I used these wheels on a bike that I was restoring to useful condition after years sitting in a shed. They fit perfectly and are good quality.

Excellent quality for the price. Spins slightly rough out of the box. Uses freewheel.
I am quite pleased with this set of 700cc wheels. For the price, they are a good deal, and for me, a good base to build from. They are not necessarily the lightest wheels but are not heavy by any measure. I actually used to use a carbon set of Mavics, but I am actually not trying to get to the lightest bicycle because of a frightening accident I had on my last bike that was super light. I do not mind a little bit of weight this round to keep my wheels down, since I will not be attempting any racing and mostly riding for leisure or commuting. Out of the box, I noticed that the rim of the wheels feel rigid in a good way. The spokes look true. However, when I gave them a spin, just holding on to the axle, I did notice that they spin rough. It is almost like you can feel each bearing bump as the wheel spins. It does not seem to impede the spin, but I do plan on putting some grease or lubricant in when I open up the axles. Speaking of the axles, these are bolt on, not quick release, in case you have a preference. I plan on changing out the axles to use a pair of quick release skewers I have spare. During that switch, I will open it up and put the grease on the bearings, and hopefully, the wheels will spin without that roughness after that. It is also important to note that these come with a freewheel hub, not a cassette hub. Freewheels are older, but there are plenty of options out there. One potential side benefit that I found while researching freewheels is that it seems like e-bikes tend to use freewheels. I have half-a-mind to try and do a conversion and add an electric motor to my bike. Having the freewheel in place might make this easier. Regardless, I did order a 9-speed freewheel despite the description suggesting 6/7/8 speed freewheels. The eye test upon screwing it on to the hub makes me believe the few extra millimeters of depth for the 9-speed will not cause me any issues. I am still testing though. I went 9-speed because it is easier to find 9-speed groupset parts, like the Sora set from Shimano. I will update this review if it ends up not shifting properly due to the sizing. However, considering the good price and overall good build quality, I am happy with these wheels. There are a few minor flaws, like the rough spin that will hopefully disappear with some grease, but I recommend them to anyone who is looking for a solid set of wheels and open to using a freewheel.

Probably the best 700c rims for the price.
Great double wall 700c rims. Coupled with Shimano Tourney 7spd threaded gearset and Continental Ultra Sport tires makes for a nice and smooth ride! Really made my old Cannondale pop again. Getting another set for my old Panasonic.

Can not be used with a threaded fixed gear.

Quality/Cost ratio is 100%
These are great. For the price, it's kinda nuts you can get this kind of quality. 100% would by again.

Good replacement wheels for my vintage bike.
The wheels came ontime and were easy to install. They look great and seem very sturdy. I'm looking to covert my bike from strictly road to gravel, these wheels should help that along. Can't beat them for the price.
