dont quite understand this. If its a 'body only' do I have to purchase the motor bit separately?

Yvonne, You have to purchase the battery separately, and charger if you don't have one. For those people who use the 18volt L,ion batteries with their power tools, the body only range means that you can utilise you existing batteries and buy body only tools to keep the cost of buying further batteries down Hope this answers your question....

Hi, will this vac be ok with 4/5 ah batteries and can u but a flexible hose attachment for it. Thanks

Yes the 4 and 5 amp batteries will work with this.

Hello, where can I buy some replacement filters for this vacuum? It is annoying to have to wash it and then wait for it to dry before using it again.

I recall that Makita sell the spare parts on their website, but you should also be able to buy spares through Makita dealers.

My makita hp457d drill has a bl1813g 18v li-ion battery. is this compatible?

No model number you require with the G-series fitting everything else about the machine is the same is the CL183DZX
