Ronseal RSLMPWFN100G 100g Multi-Purpose Natural Wood Filler Tube

I have been using this filler for year's & it is a great product. But unfortunately this time It is either an old batch, out of date, Managed to get a small amount out of the 1st tube about the size of a garden pea but, It had gone hard was lumpy & impossible to extract from the tube. The second tube which is un opened may be ok but It came as a package of 2, so I am sending them both back. & now, it's a trip to B&Q !

It was easy to use. Slightly smaller than expected but managed to get the job done.

It comes out of the small tube easily and dries nice and hard so it is easy to sand back and finish. Also, I was able to mix it with some a neutral tube to get a closer match for my wood colour - English Oak.

This is completely unfit for use. First of all, the paste inside was so thick, that cutting it open was the only way to get any out. Even with a vice, I think the seam would have given way before anything came out. When I first opened it, a load of fluid came out. I can only assume that the solids and liquids had separated and this had been sitting on a shelf for a long time. End result being that I had to throw the whole tube away after only using 10% of the contents. Next issue is the colour. The description says natural wood, but this dries to almost completely white and sticks out like a sore thumb, even on light woods. Third issue is that it does not take stain the same as the wood, so even after staining, it still sticks out and looks terrible. This ruined a project I spent many hours on.

I bought this to repair a bunch of damaged screw holes. Turns out this stuff is stronger than wood when it dries. I've since bought a few more of this (once you open it it dries and becomes unusable again). I've fixed damaged walls, doors, wooden furniture such as wardrobes. Love this stuff. Edit: Worth noting that it's really not worth stocking up on this as it only lasts a while before the ingredients separate. I keep stocking up on a few of these for unexpected repair jobs (and to try to reduce shipping costs) only to find water just tickles out of the tube leaving behind a solidified lump in the tube when I need it most. However every time I've ordered a new one from amazon, it's worked well and completey saved me.

I've used wood filler before and this just initially squirted out like a milky fluid. I immediately replaced top and pressure squeezed mixed the tube contents. Still after good few squeezes - contents wouldn't come out. Had to eventually stand on the tube and use a knife to scrape the filler up and onto the item. I'd say mix contents really well before opening. Be strong to get it out of the tube. All seemed good on layering and build up. Not sanded it yet. Filler used on a broken piece of garden chair.
