Top-Quality Texture, But Comes at a Price
Hanz de Fuko Quicksand definitely feels like a premium product. The texture is dense and smooth, lacking the wet, heavy feel that often comes with clays or putties, and the added dry shampoo feature means your hair feels far less greasy than with similar products. That said, this isnโt a budget-friendly option, so youโll need to decide if the price is worth it for you. Itโs not the quickest styling product โ if youโre after something easy to throw in and go, this might not be ideal. But if you want a firm hold, less shine, and that refreshing dry-shampoo effect, Quicksand is worth a look.

Best one yet!
Unlike anything else Iโve ever tried.. believe me Iโve tried them all.. IMO I love it. I have low skin fade with side parting. Like to have it natural look. Itโs leaves your hair really soft & rework-able. Doesnโt fail halfway thru the day. Strong, but can restyle easily . Bit pricey, but worth it. Use with a good quality sea salt spray. Works great..

Usable but a bit pricey
Smell is fine, strange product definitely has some hold. Doesnโt make your hair too greasy but not as much hold as I personally would like, I would say that itโs a bit on the pricey side for what it does.

Good product
Really like it. Struggle to find products that are malleable with a strong hold, this is pretty good. Better for a flowing look that really strong hold. I have medium hair, relatively straight

It's alright
It's a decent product, but unfortunately it dries out my hair way too much. Additionally, as another reviewer commented, it does not have the most pleasant smell and possesses a 'mud-like' smell. Not a deal breaker but something to take into account before buying this product. Too expensive for what it offers. Overall, it's something which I would use once in a while, rather than on a regular basis.

Great hold, matte finish.
My hair: fine, straight, short-medium length, black. My style: Grade 3-5 on the sides and back. Varying lengths at the top (4-12 inches). Standing up when short. Swept back style when longer. Hanz de Fuko (Quicksand) Pros: - emulsifies quickly in the hands and applies to hair easily. Not tacky/sticky. - nice matte effect. Not greasy/shiny at all. - Gives strong hold with a 'natural' look. - I only need a small amount (half a fingernail sized) to get a good hold. - Applies well on towel-dried or dry hair. I hair-dry my hair then apply - this seems to give best styling effect. - Lasts most of the day (does lose hold a little with longer hair however). - Mould-able hair - can change/readjust style easily during the day without necessarily applying more product. - Washes out easily, no residue. I don't feel I need to wash it out at the end of the day. Cons: - Cost. Not much in each pot (expensive per gram compared to other products). However (my opinion) worth the expense. - Gives hair a "sandy" texture (although some consider this a plus point?) - works well with short hair but not much else. - No real scent (smells like mud). Not unpleasant however. Overall, I think this product is great. I have purchased HDF quicksand 4 times in the last 4 years. It is my favourite amongst the HDF range and one of my favourites overall.

Terrible hold and far inferior to claymotion - DO NOT BUY
I bought this as an alternative to claymation as I figured something with slightly less hold would be better for my hair given claymotion is on the strong side for me. As you can tell from the title, this is RUBBISH. It has the feel and hold of a weak Superdrug own brand putty. It feels like sand mixed with watery pva glue. Annoyingly I canโt return it and I have no real use for it. It doesnโt even work well in a mix with claymotion, it just makes my hair feel slimey. Avoid at all costs, you have been warned. I paid more attention to the positive reviews in some weird confirmation bias mindset, ignoring the plethora of negative reviews! My mistake! I wish I had been more wise.

Wish I had bought this sooner.
Okay, let me just start off by saying I'm a woman with extremely thick, curly, and frizzy hair. I have had trouble searching for a product that does not leave my hair feeling oily, greasy, or weighs down my curls. Not to mention women's products are overly perfumed and don't cater well to those who have hair in between textures. So out of frustration I looked at men's hair products. I wished I had done so sooner. This hair wax locks down on any frizz without weighing down my curls, allowing them to maintain their coil. Its not greasy at all and like many others have said, has a dry matte finish. It emulsifies fairly quickly and has a grainy texture that dissipates once its in your hair. Its not overly perfumed and has a slight almond-like/jojoba scent. It holds fabulously and I won't be wasting money on any more hair styling products.

Amazing product
If there is any product that holds your hair in place, easy to remove, organic and works fabulously well on thin hairs, it's hanz de fuko quicksand. Amazing product

Works well and adds texture
I use this after a sea salt spray, it's easy to use, only need a little bit. I found it easy to wash out, it's a little greasy but I've found that to be the case for most of these. Has a good hold that lasts all day. It's kinda expensive, but I think it will last a long time!

The best hair product ever!
I have tried so many different pomades over the years, and they always follow the same principle of gluing hair together, despite being water-based. This stuff is one of a kind: it's more like a powder (using a mineral compound made from the fossilised remains of tiny aquatic organisms!) and it doesn't look or feel unnatural, but it does shape hair surprisingly well, even my semi-long, straight hair. Here's a trick: wash hair, towel dry it, dry your hands, rub a small amount of Quicksand between hands, apply all over hair, then blow dry while brushing back. This will miraculously create volume that lasts. Reapply a little on the dry hair afterwards. Can be combined with texturising/volume powder, but honestly, at least in my case, this is all I need. Happy to see it at a good price on Amazon.
