Great filter for the price. Good quality.
These 1 micron filters by Aquaboon are of good quality and work well. The ones I use are pleated and do a great job as a pre-filter, wholesome filter or a final filter. At one micron it removes most of the scale from the water and the water is softer after going through this filter. It can even filter out cyst and protazoa from well water with good efficiency. You have to match the filter size to the size of your house though. 10"x 2.5" is good for 5gpm or a small house. 10" x 4.5" is good for 10gpm or a medium size house and 20" x 4.5" is good for 20gpm or a larger size house. I micron is very small so catches almost everything from the water. If you have good quality water to begin with it will last longer up to 12 months.

Better than string sound filters.
We’d been using the string wound type of filters, and even at the 1 micron level, still had sediment in the water. We switched to these, and the change was remarkable. I really like them. If they hold up decently, they’re a winner.

Not sure if these are 1 micron absolute or average
I picked a four pack of these because the seller information indicated they are washable so i didn't see a reason to buy a whole bunch. The other reasons I selected the Aquaboon filters are for the 1 micron rating (although I've yet to figure out if that is an absolute rating or average), pleated vs wound versions, and overall high rating of Aquaboon in general. Filters arrived in overwrapped four pack. You then have individually wrapped filters inside. Appreciate having the individual wrapping as may be some time before I get to use the last one. The outer packaging did not state the filters were washable (reusable); however the labeling on the individual filter did state they were washable. Washable to me means I can backwash (I have a separate filter housing for just backwashing any 2.5x10" filter) or simple take out to the garden hose and rinse out the sediment build up by flushing water down each pleat. Given these are just sediment filters I haven't noticed any difference in my water taste. The small 1 micron rating generally would reduce water pressure more compared to a 5, 10, or 20 micron filter; but so far my inlet/outlet gauges have only shown a 2 psi greater drop compared to the performance when last installed a new 5 micron pleated filter. Installation of these standard sized filters is quick and hassle free. Biggest issue I run into is the filter housing will sometimes be very tight even though I usually install only hand tight. So far the first filter is working well. My clear filter housing is letting me keep a close eye on it. Haven't spotted any deformation of the filter material with my 60 psi inlet pressure so these look like they will last a good while. In most cases I end up replacing filters due to time limits rather than build up so I am looking forward to when I get to "rinse/reuse" these and see how much money they will save in the long run.

Keeps sediment out of our water heater.
Works well in our system. Our well casing is almost 40 years old so we need to change them monthly but that speaks more to the quality of our water than the filter.
