Is it dishwasher safe

The other commenters are idiots. I imagine the basket and metal container could be put in the dishwasher. The electrical unit is connected to the heating elements, and these won't be able to be washed in the dishwasher. The fryer is very modular, so put the non electrical parts in the dishwasher.

Does the outer unit heat up and burn you or is it cool resistant type?

Heats up a fair bit but not ecsesive
