Does this have a lithium ion battery?

The instructions say that it contains a nickel-cadmium battery. It's sealed anyway and can't be replaced. The instructions say it should last from 3 to 5 years. My last one lasted 6 years before it was unable to hold a charge - but it was still useable plugged into the mains.
