My second one of these! Excellent value
My first one was cheap & cheerful, always shaved reliably, and it lasted over 10 years before the blades became dulled, the battery life dwindled & the power switch started to have problems, so I just bought another one! It's very nice to have the fresh blades back, so I'll make sure I oil it more regularly this time. Unfortunately the supplied little oil bottle isn't refillable, and it won't last long, so make sure you get a separate oil bottle so you don't neglect maintenance! They've changed the power switch design this time, so I hope this one doesn't fail. I'm fairly sure the plastic they've used on the guards is softer than before, so the guards don't seem to clip in place as firmly or securely... But otherwise it's the exact same Groomsman kit I bought last time. Why change a winning formula...? Probably not the best trimmer you can buy, but for an equivalent cost of ยฃ1.50 a year, it's *incredibly* good value. Just make sure you oil the blades regularly!

Great Value
Excellent piece of kit at this price point. A 'solid' trimmer that feels good in the hand. The 'guards'/'trim-length adjusters' snap on easily and firmly and seem pretty robust. Within 5 minutes of getting it out of its box my shaggy goatee and moustache were neatly-trimmed. Its being ready to use straight out of the box was a nice bonus touch - well done Wahl! Highly recommended as a 'value' trimmer that looks to be both reliable and long-lived.

Cordless shaver .
Absolutely brilliant, I use it for shaving my beard, save loads on razor blades .

Still on the first charge after 3 months!
I spent ages thinking about which beard trimmer I was going to get. Eventually settled on this one after going through the reviews here. Let's talk about the positives first - battery lasts months and months - seems to go forever. It also looks good, is very portable and feels great to hold. It's made of a shiny plastic, but it doesn't look or feel plasticy. It's feels premium / metal. There's a lot of crappy accessories that come with it, but if you're like me they will never see the light of day. I found that one of the attachments was just right and it sits in the corner with the charger. Some have said that the little red button feels a bit cheap... yeah it does, but it's not the end of the world as you're not paying ยฃ100. As for charging, the red light comes on when it's charging but you don't know when it's fully charged. Luckily, you seem pretty bright, so charge it overnight, unplug it in the morning and move on with your life. I have had a few nicks where it's caught my beard. I just go a little slower and that seems to do it. I tried the lube / oil a few times, but really have no idea what I'm doing, maybe it helps, maybe it doesn't. I actually use it to shave my head too now - it's fine!! Prefer it to my big clippers. My view? If your sitting here struggling to make a decision, just buy the thing (because it's not expensive) and if it's rubbish you can blame it on me.

Zippy gadget
I had grown a scruffy beard and needed it trimming or shaving off. A visit to the barber for a trim soon sorted it, so I decided that owning my own trimmer was called for. Settled on this beauty on the basis that for less than 12 quid, delivered, and with rechargeable batteries too, it was worth a risk. It works perfectly; indeed just as advertised. Beard looks and feels better and was all done in less than 10 minutes. Moustache trimmed easily and to the right shape. The trimmer was delivered complete with a stand for trimmer/accessories as well as a nifty (but very thin) PVC travel bag. I've not had any problems with the accessories, but must add that the charger is equipped with a 13A-type plug, so cannot be charged or used with the charger in a (UK) bathroom. I have also taken note of one other reviewer (Thanks, M Johnson!) about not disassembling to oil it. Overall, I am impressed that a trimmer of such quality can be built and shipped for less than ยฃ12. Full marks to Wahl.

You get what you pay for
Beard Trimmer arrived in good time safely boxed. On opening and examining the trimmer it had obviously been 'used' and returned. Seller had done their best to tidy it up (no hairs on blades/comb guards) but noticeable around trimmer stand. I won't be using that bit anyway. I CLEANED AND DISINFECTED THE BLADES/BODY (You tube vids show ways of doing this) First charge trimmer overnight, 16 hrs. Then began to get it ready for use. Oiled blades. Combs are very flimsy and there is a knack to attach/detach, so you don't distort them. If you have never used Beard Trimmers before please be wary it is way to easy to 'chop off' more than you wanted or create a beard of different lengths with 'missing chunks' on display, lol. (Again there are You Tube vids that act as a guide) To sumarise: Trimmer is built to a cost. As shown by battery vs cord/rechargeable versions. For the ยฃ10 price difference go with the battery operated version, blade/combs the same. Trimmer is light can be used 1 handed, not precise enough for intricate hair detailing, can't be set as 'zero gapped' Are they sharp? Yes on short to medium beards, eg. 3 - 10 day growth. Combs flimsy, easily distort and Multi-Comb is not a design masterpiece. Motor is noisy. Charge to use time reasonable. (16hrs being first charge) Can cause irritation on sensitive skin, pay particular attention to neckline area. Basic model ยฃ11

Great for trimming sideburns and edging
Slender cutting head - great for trimming sideburns and edging. The adjustable all-in-one attachment is a timesaver. No more flaffing swapping between different sized attachments - although the trimmer does comes with a few individual attachment too. Only down side is that it takes approx 12 hours to fully charge and once the batteries are depleted the power dies quickly.

(Not so) Good value
This is definitely better than the useless piece of Remington junk I binned this arrived. Anyone who has broken off the plastic tabs on the attachments must be very heavy handed because I've found that so long as you don't try to rip things off like an ape then actually it's pretty sturdy. The charge holds well and the blades are good and sharp. The storage bag was a bonus but I'm not convinced about the moustache attachments - I've found them to be pretty useless and I just stick to the adjustable comb. Those not-very-good moustache attachments and the dreadful blister packaging it arrived in (which sliced my finger whilst opening it) lose it the 5th star but functionally it's a very good piece of kit for not a lot of cash. Edit: I've had this for a while now and I've revised my rating to one star. Why? Well the in the main it's the blades. They're crap. they're already blunt and pull at hairs and at the merest whiff of moisture they've corroded. They need to be stainless steel. I bought some mains powered clippers 10 years ago which have stainless and ceramic blades. I got them for 20 quid, they never need lubricating and never need sharpening. Why is this so hard for companies to do now?
