The label states in contains 180mg of POWDER. This is NOT the same as 180mg of Allicin. The Allicin content is far, far less.

Hello Brenda, I think the benefits of Allicin are better than those of raw garlic. I used to eat at least one clove of garlic a day and frequently up to four - and I mean fat ones. Some time ago I read a book about Allicin: The Heart of Garlic: Allicin's Effective Natural Healing Properties: an A-Z of Conditions & Suggested Treatments... by Peter Josling and Steve Lewis (11 Nov 2003), and concluded I could benefit more from these capsules than I could from raw garlic - thus removing the alienation of my fellow workers!! I have taken Allicin for about 5 or 6 years and never, ever get a cold even when I am in the midst of people coughing, sneezing and (excuse me) snotting all over the place for hours on end. I feel I have total immunity and can walk among them with impunity! I absolutely recommend this product, I am never without it. Hope this helps. :-)

Is this actually 180 milligrams of allicin or 180 micrograms of allicin per tablet?

No. Allicin is actually a liquid. The liquid is added to a reaction vessel along with maltodextrin and gum acacia, where it enters a spray dryer. The resultant powder is Allisure, so it can't possibly be 100% allicin. The materials data-sheet for Allisure powder states 300ppm = 0.03% = 0.054mg!

Q:is capsule shell made from bovine ?

The packaging says ‘Vegetarian capsule (Hypromellose)’ and also states that AllicinMAX is ‘Suitable for Vegans and Vegetarians’ so I guess that means no animal products and, therefore, no ‘bovine’.
