Talk Talk set top box
I bought this set top box to replace a similar box that after a number of years had lost the will to continue working. The previous box had worked so well, that I selected this newer model. It is of good quality, was simple to install, and meets all my expectations. I am very happy with this purchase.

Great box
So I'm amazed at this great little box. Having previously owned a humax this is a breath of fresh air. Only down is this a a newer version & can only be updated via internet. I purchased this initially because I was advise internet wasn't required. As this is something I don't have in my home. Series links, 8 day guide planner which is great for when I'm away. Fast responding remote & box & hasn't stuck or let me done as yet. So I'm very happy with my bit so far.

Disappointed
I know these are reconditioned but the one that I received was in poor condition, it was quite dirty, the remote was sticky and had to clean both before commencing to set up. I had to reboot it several times during the first few days of use as it failed to record, also froze frequently. I read the reviews before purchasing which were mostly positive, maybe I was unlucky with this one, I returned the item (much cleaner than received) for a full refund and is now in my account.

Better options are available
If you just want a straight replacement for a dead TalkTalk Freeview box then this is just the ticket. There are better options available though, which work just as well on a TalkTalk subscription, and will record programmes, unlike the newer TalkTalk units which rely on catch-up.

What you should know.
Having used many PVR's over the years I mainly kept to Humax products up to and including the Fox T2. I had a requirement to replace a TalkTalk DN360T in one room. After reading reviews on the various models within a limited range of YouView PVR's, I was astonished to learn that there were poor reviews on most other than a couple or so products. I was quite happy with the DN360T even though it was limited in recording facilities. After purchasing a new DN372T, I can report that this item has not failed to tick all the boxes regarding performance, ease of use, appearance and value for money. It is also extremely silent in operation. The new remote control has as many features as the older type and both are interchangeable. I have no reason to doubt that this item will be as reliable as the one it replaces, but only time will tell. I recommend this product and suggest that you read the full specification in order to observe all the features it offers.

OK Box but not first choice
This is better than the original box TALKTALK gave out but only due to upgrades over the years. Still can't FF through recordings any faster than "x30"!!! My old Sagem box did "x600"!! And for some reason I can't get any signal on the "extra" Sky channels live but can get the Catch Up for them! Delivery and packaging from the Seller was A+++ though.

An Excellent YouView Box
For the past five years I have been using a Humax PVR but playback of recordings had started to become erratic. No matter what I tried, including contacting Humax, I was unable to cure this. I therefore decided on a change and went for the TalkTalk YouView box. I've had it two weeks now and am very pleased with it. The picture quality is superb. It is a very intuitive machine and easy to set up and get to grips with. It is full of features, especially if you connect it to a router. It comes complete with all the necessary cables. However, I ordered a separate 10 metre Ethernet cable to connect the router to the TalkTalk box as the one supplied is only 3 metres long. You can use the box without a router, but to take full advantage of it you really need to connect to one. You also need to be connected to a router to get system updates for the box. This is not clear from the instructions which, although a bit minimal, are adequate. Based on experience so far, I have no hesitation in recommending the TalkTalk YouView box.

Excellent product!
When the ‘box’ provided as part of our deal with TalkTalk, stopped working properly, they were spectacularly unhelpful. No, they couldn’t (or wouldn’t) replace it and could not advise on how to fix it. Luckily we discovered that we could buy this item directly from Amazon. It does everything we want. Infuriating to have to pay for something TalkTalk should have provided, but, especially with Christmas now here, worth every penny!
