I'm after a wheat bag for lower back pain - will this product suffice?

the size will be ok for lower back but I would rather search around for another one. These bags smell and the odour is off putting smells like burnt cereal and condensates because of the material. Rather go for a non fleece material and better quality one.

is this wheat bag suitable for the knee and other joints

It moulds around joints so would be suitable for knee and other joints while you're sitting still. However, I found it didn't stay warm for very long and had to keep re-heating it

When heated does it get moist?

bought this years ago for a relative. It does not get damp or wet in any way when heated. Just warm

is the cover removable? (for washing?)

no, this one is not the removable cover version, if you want the removable cover version for washing, you need the one on the link belowhttps://www.amazon.co.uk/Unscented-Microwave-wheat-removable-washable/dp/B00JITSS8U/ref=sr_1_3_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1496694386&sr=8-3&keywords=removable+cover+wheat+bag
