Little beauty!
An excellent small dehumidifier which performs its task really well. We have recently had a burst pipe in the house so walls and floors (carpeted) soaked as it was difficult to find! When the problem was sorted we were left with needing to dry out everything. I ordered this dehudifier on a Monday evening and it was delivered on Wednesday morning which was brilliant. We then set it to work and thereafter we were emptying the tank twice a day with the dehumidifier beavering away night and day continuously. The moisture content which started at 65 came down after a few days to 45 and by that time there was a considerable difference in the walls and floors. We have kept it going but the help it has given towards the drying process has been excellent. It was easy to set up, beeps to let you know when the tank is full and runs quietly in the background whilst occupying a very small space. I am a very light sleeper but it does not disturb me in any way, even though we sleep with our bedroom door open and the dehumidifier is just at the bottom of the stairs with our door at the top. We have had two dehudifier soldiers for very reasons in the past but neither of them have been as efficient or quiet or neat as this one. Highly recommended.

Absolutely brilliant!
Brilliant compact dehumidifier, works really well. I have now owned the unit for over 6 months. I bought this mainly to dry clothes in the house over winter as I don't have a tumble dryer and drying them on the airer with the window open took days. I now use this in a small room and shirts are dry in 2-3 hours and jeans dry in 8-10 hours. Also makes the room FEEL a lot warmer (although technically it isn't). The unit is really easy to use, with an on/off button, a button to switch between 2 speeds, +&- button to set desired humidity (note: keep pressing - until CO shows for continuous/clohes drying use), a button to reset the 'clean filter now' light, and a button to operate the timer. The timer is rather basic. Press the timer button while the machine is off and it will turn on automatically in 2 or 4 hours and stay on. Press the timer button while the machine is on and it will turn off automatically in 2 or 4 hours and stay off. I'm pretty sure it says not to use a timer plug with it in the instructions however it does pick up where it left of when power goes off and comes back on (which it frequently does in our house!) so I don't see a reason not to....maybe ask an electrician to be safe first. The continuous drainage pipe is ridiculously short and quite stiff, you will need an extension unless you can sit it on the side of the bath (It wont reach over a bath wall if it was on the floor right next to the bath - not that I think it would work if it was at that angle anyway), just a word of warning if that was how you were planning to use it, although even when drying clothes I find the tank only needs emptying once a day at most and is really easy to do. Bottom line: I would wholeheartedly recommend this unit to anyone, it runs quietly, doesn't take much space up, although heavy it is easy to move around (has both handles and wheels) and I haven't seen any significant increase in electric usage since I've had it (much cheaper and kinder to clothes than a tumble dryer). Also it looks a lot nicer than some others on the market so I don't mind leaving it out!

Saved my life!
We moved to a new property in October - 2 bed flat (55 square m) and after a few weeks the Autumn weather was crap I noticed every morning water running on the windows, it was taking a week a laundry to dry, me and my family started to have headache and breathing problems nearly constantly. The clothes in wardrobes felt like being wet and dump. I've never had an issues with damp and humidity so far so it was a new field for me and did not realise where the issue is until discovered the humidity in the flat was over 90%! and I read about it how dangerous it can be. I didn't hesitate and bought this device straight away. Arrived next day, unboxed it and switch on straight away at the evening and left in our master bedroom over night running. Next morning such a surprise!!! The windows dry, felt much better and had a really good night sleep, no cough, no headache and the humidity in the room... 60%! In the tank was nearly 2.5 l of water. I couldn't believe that. I left it running for a day in the hallway and following night too keeping the bedroom doors half open. Next morning - all rooms dry and pleasant with 65% humidity. Nearly 3 l of water in the tank. Awesome! After couple of days noticed less water in the tank every day and the humidity level in the flat stabilised. Since then I have my routine: leaving overnight in the hallway set up on 50% low speed (tariff 7 electricity) and 60% during the day. The device automatically switch off when the level is reached and switch on if required. We also using it in the bathroom while taking shower (no more runny water on the tiles and foggy mirror) and when cooking in the kitchen. You can ease move it from one place to another because is on small wheels. I'm really happy with the purchase, works perfect, added to my bill quids a month but the comfort and health of my family is priceless. One more thing: the noise for me is acceptable, even if had it in the bedroom but some people may find it disturbing so I recommend to keep it in the hallway or outside the bedrooms with the doors 1 feet or more open - it does the job. And also I'm using full speed only in the bathroom when taking shower, apart of it runs only on slow mode and it's enough for our needs.

The unit feels robust and is easy to use
Having reviewed several options to reduce the humidity and damp in our flat, I went with the EcoAir DC12. There are a plethora of devices on the market, both passive and active. The difference really comes down the speed at which the device can extract moisture from the air, the level of control you have over the settings, robustness and filtration levels. So how does this rate? Very well. We have a 2 bedroom flat and the windows were almost completely covered in condensation. Wiping them down or opening the windows worked okay, but the air was still very humid and a quick google on humidity levels will show you this isn't a healthy way to live whilst indoors. This unit works very quickly. Upon switching it on, the device showed an 80% humidity level. Given that humidity monitors can run into the ยฃ1,000's it's probably a rough estimate. Even so within 30 mins, the first trickles of water poured into the catchment tray and within 90 mins the humidity levels fell to 50%. You could tangibly feel the difference in the air quality and we were able to reduce the thermostat by 2 degrees C. So, despite this unit using energy, it's probably already paying for itself. The unit feels robust and is easy to use. Noise levels are similar to an oven fan running. Neither is quiet, but on the lowest setting its mostly unobtrusive, the higher setting sounds like a normal desk fan running and is quite obvious. We set the device to run for 2hrs each day, which does a good job of keeping the humidity down and the windows clear. Overall this seems a great device and relatively inexpensive when considering the improvements it has made to the air quality. My only gripe is it doesn't seem to be able to get the humidityโ level down below 50%, but given how humid the flat gets, I suspect any device would struggle and even at 50% things feel so much better. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone else in the same situation.

Great, but not turning itself off reliably when desired humidity is reached.
This unit is neat, stylish and in the short time I have had it, extracts water very nicely indeed. I would recommend, but there is also a hesitation too: I am not entirely sure that the humidity reading is correct. I have put two independent humidity/thermostat devices in the same room, and this unit appears to be "over estimating". As a result, it does not want to switch off, when you think it should, and it just keeps running....while at the same time, showing a humidity reading that does not appear correct. To give a real-world example, consider this: I set it to 55RH, and kept monitoring it during first usage, with fans on double-speed. Water was being nicely collected, that's for sure, but as the two "independent" humidity monitors dropped and dropped....from 68/70 to as low as 52, did this unit turn off? No! Then the next morning, I came into the room (that was this morning as it happens), and had the unit turned off? No! While at the same time, the independent humidity monitors were showing 49RH. It had collected 1.5 litres in 15 hours, but was still showing 65RH, which was causing the unit simply not to turn off. (As you can imagine, there's a big difference between 49 and 68, so why was it still reading 65, and why had it not turned off....that is really the simple question!) The result of that, is that you never quite reach your 55RH even though you know you've dropped that low, and the unit keeps on using electricity for a reading it will likely never decide it has reached. My conclusion therefore, is that it is working really well from the collection of water point of view, but that the calibration of the unit in terms of humidity detection is off balance, causing a unit that will probably take forever to decide to turn off. I've solved this in the end, but by setting a higher setting, and more or less ignoring what it is telling me. So by using my own humidity readings from my own monitor, I feel much more happy that I am reaching my desired levels. This is keeping humidity now down to about 53 as I write, and the higher settings on the unit are making it happily turn off and back on again, as I would have expected and hoped. It's great, but at least in my experience, just take with a pinch of salt, its' readings, and rely on your own, and set it until you feel it's turning off when it should. Hope this helps! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Update: 31-10-2016 Having had the unit a few days now, I can say that I highly recommend it. It does indeed have a quirk where the measurements it takes are not super-accurate, and it does seem to shut off, but not quite when you think it should (by consulting a more accurate guage), but I have got round this now by siting a max/min guage on top of the unit, and powering it by an external timer, which I have coming on four times in 24 hours.....for a total of 8 hours. Using with an external timer ==================== Some reviewers have left ambiguity about whether the unit can be used with an external timer, and I can confirm 100% that it can. The main reason for this being possible is that the unit "remembers" where it was, and picks up the last settings, even if the power has been completely cut. This is a godsend, because it means that you can ignore the 2 or 4 hour programme on the control panel, and just use your own timer as you see fit, knowing it will come on just in the bursts that you want it to. So to sum up - the unit can be helped by siting a proper humidity meter on top of it (for reference) and powering it with an external timer. For me, I feel this offers the most flexibility, and I can really see from the max/min exactly what the machine achieved in a real-world situation.

Amazing machine!
Wish we had bought this years ago! Only had it yesterday and in 14 hours this has gathered 4.5 pints of water in our bungalow. We used moisture traps before but this machine is vastly superior. It is smaller than expected; in fact it is a very neat and smart de humidifier. The machine makes very little noise in the daytime and you can have this on two different fan settings. However, we did not have it on in our bedroom overnight as the noise can be a little intrusive in the dead of night. We woke up this morning to find all our windows clear and manly moisture free (only a slight bit at the bottom of the windows). This is the first time that they have EVER been free of water on winter nights and last night it was the coldest night of this winter (-8 degrees centigrade). We have a very warm bungalow and have a wood/coal burning fire on every night in winter so normally have had a lot of condensation on our windows in the mornings-but NOT this morning! It has a 2 hour and 4 hour setting and a continuous time setting if you have laundry drying in a room, or you just want it on continuously. It will switch itself off if the water tank becomes full. The machine comes with a pipe and a continuous drain outlet if you want this. It will also, quite accurately, measure the humidity in the room and you can set it to any humidity level you require from 35% RH (Relative Humidity) up to 80% RH although between 40%-60% is recommended in the informative booklet that comes with it. We are really impressed so far with this!

Never going to look back as can now look out of the windows!
We've tried everything recently to get rid of the condensation and damp in our house, other than spending that little extra to get something that will actually help. Eventually we decided we had to get a proper dehumidifier and after a bit of research, settled on this one (though I was tempted with the cheaper DC12 for a while). Once the package had arrived, I took it out of the box and grabbed the instructions expecting it to be difficult to use. I was quite surprised at how easy it was to get going. Simply peel off the blue tape, plug in and turn on. I popped it in the middle of the landing (3 bed semi) as we have 7 windows that are always full of condensation and they are all upstairs. At first, I kept running upstairs checking the windows to see if it had been worth ยฃ100+ of our hard earned English pounds and to my disappointment, nothing really had changed. I had to nip out and came back a couple of hours later and ran upstairs again and there we had it - the windows were much clearer, with very little condensation on the insides and the drip tray was full to the brim. I removed it, emptied into the sink and popped it back in and we haven't looked back as we are pretty much condensation free now on all the windows and can now start to concentrate on clearing up the mould stains, rather than trying endless solutions to a problem. As a routine, I now switch it on for 2 hours in the morning and 4 hours at night, just to keep the windows clear and its working. Overall, as I've said previously, this machine is very easy to use, easy to set up and easy to empty. Controls are simple. On / Off, 2 hr run, 4 hr run, humidity control, fan speed (if leaving to run overnight, pop it down to the lowest fan speed), laundry option. There's also the ability to have a continuous drainage mode so you can pop a pipe in the back and have it drain to a sink etc. The unit is just over 13kg so it's very easy to lift, and it's narrow enough not to get in the way, so I just pop it on top of a unit at night when I've finished with it. Very pleased with the purchase and very pleased with the results - I just wish I'd taken some before and after pictures!
