Winning Moves Harry Potter Cluedo Mystery Board Game

Brought this game with my daughter’s amazon gift card for her birthday. She absolutely loves it! She’s a big Harry Potter Fan and likes to have all the new products available. She likes playing the original Cludeo so knew of the game. It is based on the original game but has so much more twists and more enjoyable to play. Really good quality pieces and board so will last with use. Really pleased it came before expected delivery date too!

As a HP and Cluedo fan, this game is great. I was expecting a replica of the traditional game, but with HP themed rooms and counters. But this adds additional layers of gameplay - extra help cards and moveable wheels which open or block entrances into rooms. Very enjoyable.

I bought this game as a gift to a HP fan and it was good fun for all of us. If you've played Cluedo before, the basic idea of the game is the same but it has a couple new bits that make it more interesting. I really liked the additions so this was a big positive for me. It initially took a while to go through the rules but once you start playing it, it's pretty simple and very similar to the original style. I think the pieces could look a bit more interesting though but this is a small point. It would have also been nice to have more squares to move around the board. I think it's a bit too easy to move around the board considering that you can roll a 7 and pretty much go into half of the locations. I'd probably give it a 4.5 star but overall still a really good theme on a classic board game!!

Combining the mystery board game Cluedo with Harry Potter sounds like a brilliant idea, Hogwarts and the Potter-world lend themselves perfectly for unsolved crimes. In this game ‘dark forces’ lead to the disappearance of one of the main characters. The players can take the role of Harry, Ron, Hermione, Ginny, Luna or Neville to solve the mystery and to figure out what spell was thrown and what item was used to commit the crime. During the game players will have to gather several facts while moving around the board. Players can travel fast through the Potter world suing the ‘Floo Network’ while avoiding unlit fireplaces. You win the game by travelling to the Burrow and make correct accusation. It takes a little time to understand the 3 to 5 player game dynamics but it is not too demanding and the instruction are clear. Moreover the actual game play was quite exciting including for our 6 year old. In fact, it was quite amazing to see how it brought our family together for a great game session. Although we own and play many board games as a family, I never played the original version of Cluedo. So can’t make an exact comparisons. But a friend of our daughter who played with her explained to me that this is more fun and more sophisticated than the original Cluedo with the flow-network, moving rooms and fireplaces. Though I must say that this is the opinion of another die-hard Potter fan that would always prefer this version. The contents includes lots of game cads and tokens; 6 identity cards, 6 movers, 29 help cards, 32 dark deck cards, 21 mystery cards40 floo powder tokens, 6 suspect tokens, 6 items tokens. But also a game board, an envelope, a notepad and both a green and black die and a label sheet and instructions. The game is somewhat nicely presented. But frankly it’s not more than a common board game. And that is a shame as our daughter is a huge Potterhead who collects movie memorabilia and replica’s. Almost all of these are of good quality and look really authentic. Something similar could have been done with this game, that now is not much more than a standard colour-printed cardboard box, with cardboard game pieces. One of the attractions of board games to me, in particular as a child, were the many curious plastic game pieces, certainly the metal objects in particular that I saw in the Cluedo game. This game should have come in such a luxury, more authentic ‘Hogwarts’ version & I would have paid up for it. Hence only 4 stars, but still a good, entertaining game that I would recommend.

This is a great game, I just thought they would replace Miss Scarlett with Hermione and the revolver with poison or something but they have been really inventive with this and it's a totally new version of Cluedo. I'm very impressed. I thought they could have made a wee bit more effort on the pieces but that me just being picky

There is also a nice twist where you can use floo powder to move to different locations if the chimneys are open. We have played this game lots of times as a family with two children aged from 8 years old and have not tired of it. In fact, we prefer it to the original Cluedo game.

Pretty good game. Be warned it takes a few hours to get set up and learn how to play and your child could be put off by this! We've yet to play properly as we only had enough time to set it up which was a shame on holiday with everyone together for only a few hours. Will persevere as looks like it could be amazing, probably for children over nine at least though.

La plancia e le carte sono molto ben fatte e ricreano bene l'atmosfera. Le novità rispetto alla versione classica sembrano movimentare meglio ed aggiungere divertimento al gioco (non ci abbiamo ancora giocato) I segnalini dei personaggi come da altre recensioni sono in effetti pessimi. avere delle riproduzioni in metallo sarebbe stato gradito nessun pezzo mancante o rovinato, tutto perfettamente nuovo Consegna perfetta nei tempi stabiliti

The game is good. We just don't like the only "punishment" that you have during the game is taking off your Flu powder... that is a little boring. The wizarding world of Harry Potter is too big... we think they can do better.

Muy entretenido, tanto si eres fan de los Cluedo como si lo eres de Harry Potter o de ambos el juego te hace pasar un buen rato. Tiene dinámicas ligeramente diferentes que lo hacen muy entretenido para los jugadores de Cluedo habituales y para los fans de Harry Potter las referencias a la saga están bien hechas. A tener en cuenta que todo el juego, incluidas las instrucciones, está en inglés, pero se entiende perfectamente.

Ich habe es für meinen Freund gekauft, der Cluedo liebt und habe ihn freudig damit überrascht :) Ich, als großer HP Fan, hatte umso mehr Spaß, denn diese Version ist wirklich niedlich und dennoch spannend gestaltet. Man kann sich einen Charakter aussuchen und fühlt sich wie ein echter Hexer, der einen bekannten Mörder jagt, uns hat es gefallen! :) Und ja: es ist in Englisch, so wie es dort steht. P.S.: Man kann es auch zu 2. spielen, selbst wenn es nicht im Handbuch steht: einfach loslegen! Klappt wunderbar.

Very good game, with additional secret passages and locking doors not available on the standard Cluedo. The strange names are a bit of a mouthful for players not familiar with the HP saga, but no problem for members of the HP fan club. Granddaughter is thrilled with it.
